Rare LS6 block-equipped 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 is a true time capsule that looks brand new.

Few cars in history were sent off with a bang quite like the fourth-gen Pontiac Firebird, which used the dawn of the mighty Trans Am WS6 as a way to sunset a long-running and beloved nameplate. To this day, enthusiasts still seek out the mighty nostril-ed version of the Firebird, largely thanks to its 5.7-liter V8 that produced a healthy 325 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, though ramping up those numbers significantly is extremely easy, too. However, this 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 up for grabs at Gateway Classic Cars is a bit more special than most, for a couple of reason.

For starters, this particular last-year 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 has just under 2,500 original miles on the clock, making it one of the lowest-mile examples we’ve ever laid eyes on. As a result, it’s in simply immaculate condition, inside and out. However, this WS6 is also packing an LS6 block, which makes it rather rare as well. It’s unclear how many of these cars came equipped with an LS6 block, but some estimate that number to be around 10-15 percent of all 2001 models, and around 25 percent of 2002 models, so it isn’t many.

With just one owner to its credit, this rare bird is certainly special. Finished in silver paint, it’s absolutely stunning on the outside after clearly living the past couple of decades in storage. Everything is present and accounted for, including the original wheels, the WS6’s famous hood, and everything else that makes us love these cars so much.

The same goes for the black interior, which is quite simply flawless in every way. The seller notes that everything in here works perfectly as well, with amenities including air conditioning, an AM/FM radio with a CD player, power steering, power locks, and power seats. As should be the case, the driver rips through the gears themselves via a six-speed manual gearbox, which makes for a rather thrilling experience.

While there isn’t much not to love about this beautiful WS6, it does feature a rather lofty asking price of $49k. But in today’s world of crazy prices and feverous trading of classic cars, that doesn’t seem entirely unreasonable.
