Anderson Composites Reveals Full Carbon Fiber C8 Corvette Body
It isn’t cheap, but Anderson Composites’ new carbon fiber C8 Corvette body kit is lightweight and easy on the eyes.
Carbon fiber has played a big role in automotive construction over the past several years for two very good reasons – one, it looks good, and two, it’s lightweight compared to traditional materials such as steel. That’s precisely why automakers – as well as the aftermarket and enthusiasts – have embraced it, and that includes Anderson Composites. The company has already forged a reputation for building some complete composite bodies, and now, it has revealed its latest creation – a full carbon fiber C8 Corvette body.
The new Anderson Composites carbon fiber C8 Corvette body is obviously a work of art to look at and seeks to enhance the factory lines of the mid-engine machine as well. Measuring 74.6 inches wide in the front and 75.1 inches in the rear, the carbon body is 3 inches wider than the regular Stingray and around 0.5 inches wider than the already-wide Z06, giving it a truly sinister look befitting of its dark carbon finish. But at the same time, while some widebody kits look to reinvent the wheel, this one still retains a factory-like look overall.
As for the kit itself, it consists of an entirely new front fascia with enhanced aero and cooling, front splitter, canards, larger oil cooler intakes, enhanced brake cooling, rocker extension panels, roof, door handles, rear hatch, side vents, rear spoiler, rear diffuser fins, and larger side air ducts to aid cooling. All of the panels mount just as OEM body parts would, and are constructed from a mixture of vacuum-infused and dry carbon components.
As one might imagine, Anderson Composites’ new C8 carbon fiber body kit fits all eighth generation Corvettes, which means the 2020 model year and up. Also unsurprising is the price tag for all of this lightweight goodness – a cool $19,999, which is obviously a lot of coin. But for those with the means and the desire, we imagine that this kit will prove to be pretty enticing, given how amazing it looks.
