Upon starting up his C8 Corvette, a glitch wiped out all of his favorite presets and Bluetooth profile, dropped Chevy Bowtie for Cadillac crest.

With any new car, there will be some issues in the first year or so of production. The C8 Corvette is no exception. There was the time its frunk popped open with no warning while moving. Then, there have been a handful of cases where the alloy wheels leave the molds with pits. Not to mention the wavy stitching of the leather dash, some cars locking themselves with the key fob still in the car. It already had enough on its plate with the pandemic.

Alas, we can now add one more problem to the list of C8 Corvette teething issues. YouTuber Jaysmizle currently owns a C8 Corvette with tons of issues, including its newest one with a twist: there’s a Cadillac badge involved.

“Just came shopping to Costco,” said Jaysmizle, “and my car did that demo mode thing. It erased all of my radio presets, and — let me see if it does it again. You guys are gonna want to see this.”

He first shuts down the LT2 V8 and the rest of his C8 Corvette, then opens the driver’s side door. Next, he closes the door and starts the ‘Vette back up. Everything’s still undone, but there’s an usual sight before witnessing the pain.

“Cadillac emblem,” said Jaysmizle. “Did you guys see that? A freaking Cadillac emblem comes up on my main screen software, and I’m clearly in my Corvette. I don’t know how that’s possible. I’m sure there’s a logical explanation for it. But that’s my life right now.”

Of course, the last time the Corvette cosplayed as a Cadillac, it was the one-gen 2004-2009 XLR. This time, it’s only this particular C8’s infotainment that aspires to be the “Standard of the World.”

“I don’t think I’m being that dramatic when I say I own the world’s worst Corvette ever built […],” said Jaysmizle. “I’m gonna have to reset each and every one of my radio stations. I’m gonna have to reconfigure the Bluetooth to link up to my phone again.”

It’s not the first time he’s had problems with his C8 Corvette’s digital screens, either. His digital gauge cluster’s gone black at least twice, and his radio’s broke one time before. This ‘Vette needs help, to say the least.
