Why Car Culture Isn’t Dying

It seems as if every other week, we’re told by the mainstream media that car culture is either on the verge of decay, or dead as a door nail. These statements usually come from old-timey journalists that do about as much research as a toddler does before sticking a pea up their nose.

Current, real auto-journalists are constantly at war with these morons. Why, because not only is car culture very much alive, but there’s an entirely new generation of kids getting into cars because of things like Formula Drift, GRC, and other forms of racing and car culture.

Recently, our friends at Jalopnik spoke out about the stupidity of many of these articles bemoaning the loss of car culture in America. They give source after source showing how invalid these opinions are. From our perspective, one of the key elements in the new age of car culture though is the relatively inexpensiveness of the LS platform.

Not only is the LS a cheap way to make tons of power, but it’s a cheap way of learning how to wrench on a car and its engine. The LS engine is perhaps one of the most important engines ever built and car culture as a whole should be thankful for its continued service to the aftermarket public.

So no, car culture isn’t dying. It might not be the same culture that was in the 50s to the 70s, but it’s definitely not dying, so quit moaning about it.
