Love them or hate them, KISS still seems to be a thing in the world and for some unknown reason, they collaborated with Corvette to bring about the apocalypse. I mean a modified C7.

KISS frontman Paul Stanley according to the release “worked” with Chevy designers to modify this one off SEMA edition 2015 Corvette Stingray coupe.

And other than picking some colors out of the Chevy book, not much is all that different from what you can get with any C7.

Although some color choices show Paul’s age and penchant for 80’s hair metal, such as the super gaudy front grille and odd interior. The rest of the car looks quite handsome, but then again the car was already good looking.

However, the two tone roof that merges back to the spoiler looks quite good. Then you seen the silver mirrors and it just looks silly again.

Chevy also brought an awesome 1971 3rd generation Corvette, which is definitely more my style in terms of modification than the Corvette above.

Again, “working” with NASCAR champ Jimmie Johnson, Chevy took the same LT1 crate motor from the C7 and lumped it into the C3 for utter awesomeness.

Not only did the engine compartment receive a makeover with the LT1 and Super Magnum 6-speed trans, but the crew that built it also firmed up the chassis, replaced the front and rear suspension with fully adjustable parts and took the Z06 brakes and threw those under it as well.

Unlike the KISS mobile above, the styling cues for this build are very subtle giving very much a stock looking appearance. That is until you mat the gas pedal and all hell breaks loose.

Both of these cars showcase the vast dichotomy of show cars that turn up at SEMA. One purely for the bling, and the other purely for the go. We’re down at SEMA now and will be covering it throughout the week so stay tuned for more.
