It’s F-Body vs. Zeta in this back-to-back in a burnout battle.
This video comes to us from the YouTube channel of Saul Casas, and it features a burnout battle between a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. As we all know, 2002 was the final year for the fourth generation Camaro. It was the last of the F-Body Camaros. 2010 was the introduction of the fifth generation, and return of the Camaro name. So the car on the right effectively replaced the car on the left – but which does a better burnout?
There are no details on these cars, but we can see that the F-Body is a Camaro Z28, and the fifth-gen car appears to be a Camaro SS. The Z28 is powered by an LS1 with 325 stock horsepower while the newer SS is powered by an LS3 with 400 horsepower with the automatic transmission (which this 5g appears to have based on how the burnout begins). On paper, the newer model should be the better burnout machine, but to find out for sure, the owners of these two Chevy muscle cars went back-to-back for a smoky battle.
The video begins with these two Camaros sitting back-to-back a few feet apart. The 4th gen car lurches forward a bit as the burnout begins while the 5th car smoothly gets the tires spinning. The 2002 Z28 quickly creates a huge cloud of smoke that cloaks the newer Camaro and while we can hear the engine of the 2010 roar as it spins the tires. The older Chevy muscle car just plain lays down a better burnout.
After about 15 seconds, the driver of the 2010 lets the car roll forward and it zips out of view while the 2002 Z28 continues to roast the tires for a few more seconds. From beginning to end, the fourth-gen car did a better burnout than the fifth-gen, so the winner is easily the 2002 Camaro Z28.
