Matt Coffman is another rookie that will be competing in Formula Drift in 2014 with LS power under the hood. Let’s take a look at the car that got him the license to drive in the Formula Drift Pro Championship!

Matt is not just your standard rookie of the year candidate, though he will probably be one of the favorites considering he doesn’t just drift. Matt also takes part in Rally America stage rally, Global RallyCross Lites, and will be looking to enter two WRC rounds in Mexico and Canada.

This will not be the car he does compete in for the 2014 season of the Formula Drift Championship. However, this is the car that landed him the license to compete and will continue to run in non-pro events.

His car is a Nissan S13 240SX fastback chassis that has the 6666 (pronounced “Four 6”) Customs body kit on it and it is a stunner to see in real life. Talent is what’s allowed this car to retain much of that kit without zip ties running all the way down each panel.

The engine is an LS7 that has been modified with a cam, better flowing valves, and the FAST LSX intake system.

As much as it was an impressive car to hear, it was far more to watch this 21 year old driver make his way to the professional ranks of Formula Drift.
