For what it’s worth: Just because Bumblebee is triumphant against Barricade and his Decepticon goons in Transformers, that does not necessarily mean every Camaro is going to beat every Mustang.

In this video, we have a 2015 GT racing on rolling starts on street roads against a 2016 SS. For starters the Mustang’s stock Coyote V8 is good for 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The Camaro’s LT1 V8 makes 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. As you can see with you eyeballs, the newer Camaro technically has more power, and it also is slightly lighter than the Mustang (3,760 lbs vs. 3,817). According to Car and Driver, the Camaro does a rolling start (5-60) in 3.9 seconds, and the Mustang does it in 4.4. But this isn’t a stock Mustang.

The Mustang in this video has the Performance Package with Airaid intake, a Borla Atack Cat-Back exhaust, Stainless Works performance headers, and a Lund Racing flex fuel E85 tune. There aren’t any details on just how much that boosts performance numbers, but it’s definitely a huge upgrade. There’s also no word on whether or not the Camaro knew this Mustang had these mods, but there are photos of the cars standing still, so we assume it did. And yet, it still chose to race.

The first run, the Camaro clearly doesn’t jump right, so check out the second for a more accurate rep of the competition.
