Hennessey Double Trouble Camaros: 1,650 Horsepower of American Muscle

Both the Camaro ZL1 and the Camaro Z/28 as stock, are blisteringly fast sportscars. The supercharged ZL1 is a tower of low down dirty torque, and the super sticky Z/28 is a racecar for the road. Both are absolutely amazing at what they do right out of the box. However, in a world where John Hennessey exists, nothing has enough horsepower for the mad Texan.

In Hennessey’s latest video, the company pits both its very own Z/28 Camaro against its ZL1 Camaro. After the massaging that Hennessey has done, the Z/28 now makes 1,000 horsepower, and the ZL1 650 horsepower combining for a total of 1,650 horsepower. Or, just barely enough considering one of Hennessey’s own Venom GT’s makes around 1,200 horsepower alone.

What’s even crazier than 1,650 horsepower of American muscle? Only one guy owns both of these machines. The owner of these cars also has access to a private runway, so naturally Hennessey took the time to bring the cars out and shake them down. Watch and envy this man.
