Incredible Stash of GM Muscle Cars Found Inside Tractor Trailers
Barn find hunter stumbles across rural Kentucky property holding all sorts of rare muscle cars worth saving.
These days, hunting rare and valuable old cars is truly a sport. Countless folks roam the many fields, barns, and old garages across this country searching for the next big find. Their reward? Often a massive profit after they flip said discovery at auctions or private sales. But for many of these folks, it’s really all about the rush, the feeling they get when they unearth old muscle cars that have sat dormant for decades. So we can only image what was going through the mind of YouTuber Patrick Glenn Nichols Musclecar Barn Finds when he came across this incredible stash of GM muscle cars recently.
While out on the road, Nichols caught wind of a rural Kentucky property filled with tractor trailers holding some old muscle cars. He managed to track down the owner of the property and received permission to go check it out. Nichols was told there was at least a Chevelle and a Camaro or two on site. But nothing could prepare him for what he was about to discover.
Heading to the back of the lot, Nichols first spots a ’70 Chevelle SS, along with an Oldsmobile and Buick sitting outside. The Black Cherry Chevelle is actually in pretty good shape, too. “Really nice ’70 Chevelle,” Nichols says. “Somebody could save this car. I’ve saved a lot worse.” Amazingly, there’s another ’70s Chevelle right across from it, but this one’s missing a ton of parts. Nichols forgoes taking a closer look at the Olds and Buick because he’s got “bigger fish to fry.”
Nichols’ hunch proves correct, as he soon comes across a rare Daytona Yellow ’69 Chevelle SS L78 396/375 sitting inside a tractor trailer. The engine is out of the car, but it otherwise looks to be in fairly solid shape. Behind it sits an also rare ’69 Camaro Z/28. “It’s a special color,” Nichols says. “Silver was not available in ’68. It’s my understanding that this car was ordered with special paint. Only around 7,200 Z/28s were made in ’68 compared to over 20,000 in ’69, so this is a pretty rare car.”
And it didn’t even stop there. Sitting behind that rare Z/28 was an equally rare Firebird. The ‘vert is a 400/4-speed car. Nichols also stumbles across a ’73 Z/28, ’69 Camaro, and ’72 Chevelle sitting in another trailer. Talk about one seriously impressive collection of muscle cars. And even though the engines are out of all of them, he believes they are on site. Now, we just need someone to swoop in and restore these rides to their former glory!
