Junk Mail: 1973 Mail Jeep Stuffed with a 632 Big-Block

Junk Mail

Now this is some junk mail that we can all enjoy. Man builds himself a crazy fast mail delivery truck with the biggest crate motor out there.

Every day that you go to the mailbox you can be certain than 90 percent of what you get is junk mail that you don’t care about and ends up right in the trash. It is annoying for sure. But you know what is not annoying? Seeing a man tear up a drag strip in a ridiculous 1973 mail Jeep that he built himself. Especially when that Jeep has a 632 big-block under the hood and has the nickname Junk Mail. That is not annoying at all. It is freaking awesome.

A couple years back the man and his Junk Mail Jeep were spotted at a local drag strip. A video of the Jeep in action as well as a walk around with the owner was posted on the Turbo John YouTube channel. If you like to see crazy builds and love huge engines stuffed into tiny vehicles, then this is something that you are going to want to see.

632 crate engine

Junk Mail

Underneath is a 1979 Camaro subframe. The body is a 1973 mail Jeep. It is a fully functioning mail Jeep body. The sliding door still works even. The heart of this little terror on wheels is a big-block 632 GM crate engine. The owner doesn’t state exactly how much power he is putting out. However, the engine is rated at about 1,000 horsepower on 93 octane pump gas.

And this thing also has a bit of nitrous help, so it is likely well over that figure. In a vehicle the size of a shoe. The power to weight ratio must be ridiculous. The entire build is amazing but the cherry on top must be that mailbox intake. What a great idea for this Junk Mail build.

Interior

Built Not Bought

The owner of this mail Jeep built this thing himself. He did not build the transmission, but outside of that he did everything himself. And that is what it is all about. Buying a very fast drag car can be great. Nothing wrong with that. But putting something together with your own two hands can be much more rewarding. Getting behind the wheel and ripping down the track in a car you envisioned, designed, and built is just a tremendous feeling. It would certainly be easier to just buy a car, but the build is half the fun. And the frustration of course.
