GM has been uncharacteristically vague about the power numbers for the LT4 in the new Z06. At the debut, they took care to note that it would make 625+ horsepower and 630+ ft-lbs of torque. Why not a flat number?
Apparently, the LT4 is anticipated to make a fair bit more horsepower than that. “We fully expect to beat the number, but we came up with a safe estimate for the show.” That comes from Jordan Lee, the program manager for GM’s small block program. According to him, the engine should make more torque as well.
