Precision PT 7675 is an entry-level turbo with features from company’s Pro Mod line, can take a beating in your LS application.

For most of the country, the drag racing season is closed. Instead of LS- and LT-powered beasts thundering down the quarter-mile, they’re all tucked away in the shop, all warm and probably in a few pieces. Thus, it’s the right time to look through the aftermarket to find the pieces to bring out more of the best when the strip is hot once more.

Luckily, there’s a happening where the aftermarket shows off their newest products for the racing marketplace: the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dragzine was there not too long ago, where they happened upon one of Precision Turbo & Engine’s newest turbo for LS engines, the PT 7675.

“The PT 7675 is available with either a T4 .81 A/R or T4 .96 A/R housing, so it can be used in a single or twin-turbo system build,” said Precision marketing manager Reggie Wynn. “It also comes with a ported-H cover to keep compressor surge from occurring.”

The centerpiece of the PT 7675 is the compressor wheel, which is carved from a single block of forged aluminum. The turbine housing can be had as a T4 flange, with an optional stainless-steel v-band housing for those running downpipes on their turbocharged Camaros and Corvettes.

“Since this turbo uses journal bearings, it is a little easier on the pocket for racers who are working with a budget,” said Wynn. “This turbo will easily support up to 1,200 horsepower on an LS application, so it can really serve a lot of different builds.”

Precision’s new PT 7675 is the company’s third low-cost turbo, with two smaller turbos slotted beneath it. This one, though, is for those who run in the NHRA Sportsman class, according to an interview with Griffin Steinfeld for YouTube channel Power Automedia. For them, Steinfeld says it’ll clear tech with no problem.

Of course, there’s nothing like having more power on tap in the first place. For just $1,049.99, anyone with an LS under the hood can bring the thunder to their local drag strip in the warmer days and nights to come.
