Build Your Own Rat Rod Trophy Truck This Summer

Rat rod

There’s not much I can say to add to the awesomeness of this video. This sweet-looking rat rod trophy truck will make you want to get off the couch and start looking for an old truck and engine you can build in your very own garage.

Youtuber, Sol, likes to think of his creation as a bit unique, and in fact calls it “the first performance based desert truck underneath a ’37 International shell with a rat rod stance.” If that sounds weird, it’s because it actually is, but it’s equally awesome.

Featuring a race-ready off-road suspension mounted to a custom-built 1 ¾-inch chassis, the rat rod enjoys a staggering 14-inches of suspension travel. When it comes to the horsepower department, the rat rod packs an aluminum 5.7 liter LS6 motor, which although we believe to be pretty powerful, there isn’t any data on what kind of horsepower it pumps out.

The body was chopped over 6-inches in length; giving the rat rod trophy truck a squatted and low to the ground look, when in reality it sits much higher than most new pickup trucks on the market. All in all, this bad boy just looks like a super fun time!
