S14 ‘Silvette’ Is an LS-Powered Forced Induction Funhouse

Nissan S14 Silvia Silvette With LS Swap Procharged

Gorgeous LS-powered S14 Nissan Silvia wears a stylish purple finish and has an under-hood centrifugal surprise.

At this point, it is more common to find a chassis that hasn’t been swapped with an LS powerplant than ones that have. We certainly can’t fault people for making that choice, either. Whether you do an aluminum LS or a classic junkyard truck engine build, we love it all. However, there are just so many LS-swapped cars out there that we couldn’t possibly show appreciation to everyone independently. While we take issue with the argument that LS swaps are played out or unoriginal, we are happy to admit that it’s common. It benefits us, really. The more, the merrier, right?

In this ever-growing and evolving world of LS swaps, though, it’s hard to stand out. That is unless you’re Instagrammer Builtbyjoe in Long Beach, California with a gorgeous purple S14 Nissan Silvia on a set of Nismo LMGT4s. Let’s be honest–your head would turn for this purple monster far before you knew it had an LS powerplant, considering that prominent front-mount intercooler. The roaring hunk of American metal beneath the hood really just sweetens the deal.

More You Look, Better It Gets

The LS powerplant isn’t where the fun stops with this car, though. While many S14s are battered to hell from serving life as a drift missile or spend most days getting their undercarriage wiped flush from hellaflush fitment, this one sits up a little higher in the rear end. Look closely. You’ll notice it’s because it has some fat Mickey Thompson tires on the back. That friends, is the subtle hint of horsepower.

Looking at the first image with the context of those tires sure makes the bright green Brembo brake calipers pop a little bit more. So what’re the grippy tires aiding? Why the need for additional stopping power? Most importantly, why are we feeding this mystery when it says “forced induction” in the title?

Suspense, that’s why.

Equally As Appealing Behind (Under) the Scenes

There it is, ladies and gentlemen. The Vortec centrifugal supercharger that brings this madhouse of an S14 to a close. Except, not really.

While the supercharged LS is in its own right fantastic, this entire build is breathtaking. The immense attention to detail ranges not only from the external paint but makes its way under the hood, inside the car, and all the way down to the hardware. The bright green roll cage, the Rolls Royce-Esque fiber-optic starlight headliner, the colored charge piping on the intercooler system for the supercharger, etc. It’s all just fantastic.

While the only name we have behind this build is simply “Joe,” we absolutely have to give props for this thing. Based on the Instagram feed, it seems this car is no stranger to the streets. However, this level of care and attention is typically only something you’d see getting trailered into a show the likes of SEMA. This isn’t a trailer or garage queen, though. This is somebody’s hard work and passion that turned a dream into a reality. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you stand out in the world of LS swaps.
