2020 Camaro ZL1

MagneRide suspension, 650 HP and aggressive styling shoot the new 2020 ZL1 to the top of the muscle market.

How do you make a good looking car look even better? Take a decent camera and a beautiful backdrop and you can definitely make magic happen. Thankfully, the 2020 Camaro ZL1 ticks all of the boxes you’d ever want from a beautiful sports car. When General Motors Middle East, based in Dubai, UAE, took some pictures of the upcoming model, we couldn’t help but swoon over these pretty photos. Let’s take a closer look into the car and the changes it brings for the model year.

Brutal handsome is a term we might use to describe the new ZL1 and its styling is definitely unique among the rest of the Camaro lineup. The 2019 front end saw a facelift that people either loved or hated (most seemingly in the latter). However, the ZL1, will not be receiving this updated front end for performance-based reasons.

The front bumper from the pre-facelift model has a more optimized aerodynamic design. When you have as much to cool as is needed in a big power car like the ZL1, efficiency is a priority without a doubt. While the front-end might be the same as the previous model design, the rear has definitely seen some changes. This includes the 2020 LED tail lights, which now retain a dual-ring design, definitely a statement piece from GM that really ties in the aggressive design language of the vehicle.

The powertrain also is to be unchanged for the new model year. The ZL1 will still be powered by the raging supercharged 6.2-liter V8 LT4 that makes a whopping 650 HP and 650 foot pounds of torque. The Camaro will still offer the LT4 either with a 10-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual. The ZL1 will come standard with a electronically-controlled limited-slip differential. If you don’t think that’s more than enough power, you probably haven’t driven one of these cars. They are more than a handful in stock form.

Even though the Camaro is far from a light car, weighing in at around 4,000 pounds, it is no slouch in the handling department. Equipped with an industry-standard MagneRide suspension, the Camaro can walk it with the best of them. We are excited to see what it will be capable of. Priced at $64,195, we think that the new ZL1 will be without a doubt a steal for the performance it offers. What do you guys think of the new ZL1? Let us know in the comments below.
