RPM gives this C7 Corvette Z06 its Stage 4 upgrade and proceeds to hit the dyno – and the street – with impressive results.

While the newer, mid-engine C8 Corvette gets loads of press these days – and for obvious reasons – the previous-gen C7 is still a formidable machine, one that’s also far friendlier in terms of tuning potential. There’s also quite the robust aftermarket present to support such endeavors, making it relatively easy to coax massive power out of the C7 Corvette in general. However, when it comes to the mighty C7 Corvette Z06 – which comes packing GM’s 6.2-liter LT4 V8 from the factory packing 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, that’s even easier, as we can see in this video from Race Proven Motorsports.

RPM sells all sorts of performance upgrades for cars like the C7 Corvette Z06, and it also obviously wrenches on these cars as well, which is precisely what we get to see in action via this particularly clip. The process starts by stripping its powerplant down to the bare block before cleaning it up and putting it all back together with an array of upgrades, which the team expects to make a huge impact on the dyno.

In this case, that’s RPM’s Stage 4 package, which consists of two-inch American Racing long tube headers with a three-inch x-pipe, a five-inch cold-air intake, a custom cam that includes Brian Tooley dual valve springs, hardened pushrods, an ARP stud kit, an 18 percent overdriven harmonic balancer with a heavy-duty supercharger belt, an AFCO Racing heat exchanger, an RPM coolant expansion kit and fuel system, Kong Performance CNC supercharger porting, a 2.3-inch Griptech pulley, a 103mm throttle body, a meth kit, and a custom tune.

All of this adds up to well over 800 wheel horsepower, according to RPM, which in this case is expected to be north of 850. After a handful of dyno runs and some toying around with various settings, the C7 Corvette Z06 manages to exceed expectations by churning out a healthy 873 horsepower and 842 pound-feet of torque, which is enough to make this Corvette one heck of a lot of fun to drive. Given how common they still are on the used car market, it also makes the C7 Z06, in general, a pretty enticing buy.
