YouTube Surprises Wife by Supercharging Her Cadillac Escalade

Supercharged Cadillac Escalade

Supercharged Cadillac Escalade might just be the best Valentine’s Day gift in history.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, most of us with significant others probably haven’t even purchased a gift – let alone a card or flowers – for that special person yet. This is, for many, a last-second sort of affair, leaving us to hit the stores on February 13 (or the morning of the 14th, if you’re brave enough) and fight over whatever’s left with our equally unprepared cohorts. This isn’t the case with YouTuber Alex Palmeri of the Legit Street Cars channel, however, as he has spent the last couple of days supercharging his wife’s Cadillac Escalade without her knowledge.

While we’re not so sure a supercharged Cadillac Escalade is on every wife’s list of things they’d like to get for V-Day, it certainly sounds like a pretty awesome present to us. Regardless, Palmeri doesn’t have a problem wrangling the SUV away from his wife for a couple of days, telling her that he found some things wrong with it that require some attention. The plan is to slap the blower on his wife’s brand new (to them, at least) Escalade and extract around 640 horsepower from it, which should make it a lot more fun to drive.

Palmeri admits that he purchased the Magnuson blower four months ago, long before he bought the Escalade, which is set to serve as his wife’s daily driver. Prior to that, he puts the big SUV on the dyno to get a baseline, at which point it lays down around 300 horsepower. He then proceeds to walk us through the entire installation process, which is worth checking out if you’re thinking about doing the same thing to your family hauler. As Palmeri points out “the kids are never going to be late to school,” which makes this endeavor worthwhile in our book.

Once the blower is installed, the big luxury SUV transforms into a completely different animal, as Palmeri finds out during the first test drive. Now, we’ll just have to wait for the next video to learn just how much power the supercharger added, as well as get his wife’s reaction to her Valentine’s Day present, which might just be the most epic reveal ever.
