hey guys,

i wont bore most of you with a long drawn out post here, but any questions/comments/concerns please post away I'll be glad to discuss and take/give advice or feedback.

My car is 99% street driven. Everything it came with from the factory still remains in the car with the exception of back seats (don't fit anymore with 8point roll bar) and AC. Race weight tonight per the scale at the track was exactly 3760# with me in it. Stock 72kmi front suspension.

Brief mods list:

mickey Thompson sportsman 26x6x17
billet specialties 15x10 and 17x4.5
racetronix 255 with Hotwire
various gauges

im sure I'm missing some things...will add later

9/20/2017 went to Lebanon Valley Dragway in NY.
New best of 10.802 at 120.

On 150 shot and 5 degrees timing pulled on lnc box we made 579.5 rwhp on a dynomite corrected dyno at Twisted Synergy Motorsports. Those numbers were prior to FAST 92 install and on the old 10 bolt. I have not had it re tuned since I put on the FAST.

Truck trailer and car before I unloaded for first pass.

Car on trailer when I got home you can see entry number 31 on my window.

And timeslip for my 10.80 pass.

Requested to become member of the 10 second club tonight...very excited to see that next to my name on here.
Weather was not favorable again like my last trip DA's hovered around 2000 all night. Humidity about 80% d and over 76* all night.

Link to video for this pass :

you can see my buddies celebrating at end in left of screen.

I had two other 11.02 and 11.08 runs that were at 123 and 124 same night. They were on 150, I was so close I could taste it so I went from 6 to 8 degrees on the LNC box and upped it to 200 shot. That's how I hit 10's. Only 3 passes of the night. 10.80 was last pass.

Ran out of gear hard at about 1000-1100' mark. Never happened on the 150 shot before and it didn't feel like I spun at all. The car just revved so much faster. I had to let out to about half throttle which then killed the nitrous and slap it into overdrive to coast over finish line. Still got a 10.802 which I was thrilled with, but part of me wishes I just stayed in it shifted to over drive and prayed the trans held the power for those 250 more feet ... probably would've been a 10.60 pass lol.

I have a full tubular front end and manual rack with qa1 coilovers and 275# springs and a tick performance battery relocation kit to install before my next trip. I also want to upgrade to MWC lower control arms and change over to a Hoosier 28x10 or 10.5 slick. Whatever I can make fit. I'm also going to start searching for ways to shed some serious weight in this thing. I found a set of strange drag brakes that are nearly brand new with a new set of spindles for $750 locally. Wouldn't mind doing those at same time as my front suspension swap to shed some weight. I'm also planning on installing a figerglass hood. If by some grace of god I fall into some cash a forged 408 is going in it too, I found a great deal here that I'd like to try to make happen next week but I'm not sure I can swing it yet. All in all, these upgrades will probably start happening in November and be done for early next season.

There's only 5 more weeks (once per week) of test and tune at my local track and I'm working that day on 4 of them. Probably time to end the track trips for the year and just bomb around in it until it goes under the knife.

Please post away!!

Congrats man! I just cracked 10s myself this past weekend: https://ls1tech.com/forums/10-second...trous-10s.html.

What's your total timing on 150? I'm at 19.5 pulling 7* being safe. I'm going to add some in next time and lean it out a bit. It was 11.8-12.1 afr on the 150 and 12.5-12.7 on the 100.

Thanks, congrats to you as well... I've only had one other car this fast and it was a notchback fox body with a big block ford and it was tubbed. It had no radio aluminum dash and door panels, no HVAC at all, no wipers.... Tin can with giant 540 cubic inch motor and a c4 with no overdrive and 4500 stall....not much of a street car. This camaro is way better, and its a heavy pig.

I can't answer you on what my total timing is as I do not have HP Tuners to look and Twisted Synergy Motorsports tuned the car for me. I can ask the tuner there to check his file next time I see him if you'd like. I do know that on my last trip back in July he went to the track with me to finish dialing in the tune and on the 150 shot with 6 degrees pulled on a pass after data logging the car did not pull any timing from itself, and he said with 5 degrees pulled on his dyno pull it did not pull any timing either. So I could probably run it with only 5 degrees pulled at 150 shot but I'd prefer to play it a little safe. 11.02 at 123.69 with a 1.602 60' is pretty good for what I'm running, I figured I'd leave it alone until I decided I NEEDED that 10 sec slip.

My AFR's before the FAST install were dead money at about 11.5-11.8 on my 150 shot runs and cruising around town on motor basically never dropped under 14.0 or above 15.1. After I installed the FAST the car seems to be running more rich, my guess is the computer is over compensating fuel for the extra air flow. Seeing as it isn't running more lean and I wouldn't have a chance to get back to track this year I said F it last night and lets go. When I upped to the 200 shot my AFR were quite rich about 10.6-11.0... better fat than lean I suppose and it did what I wanted. 10.80's as it sits, very happy. Ill have the tune dialed in a bit more, and once I install the front end and cut some weight I should easily be able to cut back to the 150 again and run a consistent high 10.

In case anyone cares about the 11.02 and 11.08 (I know how much I love watching drag videos) here's the two links:

Congrats!! I was just telling one of my buddies that talks about heads all time about Lloyd Elliot... he lives in Houston and never heard of him. Glad to see his head work on a LS lay down some nice numbers at the track even tho he's known in the lt1 community.

I had never heard of him either...When starting this build on I was on a fairly tight budget, even contemplated leaving my 241's on...but found these 243's on here from another member brand new for a good price, so I jumped on them. In hindsight I somewhat wish I waited and compiled more parts because I ended up getting a promotion and substantial raise at work shortly after I did the heads and cam.... I could've afforded a nice set of AFR's or Trick Flows, but these certainly work well...and I'm happy... Once I put some forged rotating parts in this bottom end, I'll make up the power loss from not having a high end set of heads with some more spray LOL.

Congrats on hitting 10's! I feel like something is off? I would think you should be trapping those numbers just on motor

I have been told that a couple of times, I do not know why, but it traps low numbers. Not sure what could be causing it.

My all motor passes are typically 11.80-11.85 and traps are around 112-113mph. In the 10.80 pass I let out around 1100' mark as I stated so that cost me some speed obviously. I have the other two time slips, I'll post them.

Here are two slips from my last trip out to the track for comparison, these were prior to the s60, fast 92 setup, rear shocks, and cage install...the 11.24 is with 150 shot and on motor you see the 11.95 ...couldn't find the 11.85 slip for some reason but the mph was only exactly 1 mph higher I remember that for sure.

Thank you! It is an s60 with 3.73 ring gear. Front suspension is completely stock. Same as it was 15 years ago. I have all new front suspension stuff sitting in garage I will be installing soon, but track will be closed for this season before I get to it.

Gotcha. You're launching quite well for all that. best I got was a 1.7x 60' with vikings and 4.11 gearing. You're getting it done for sure.

be interesting to see how the new suspension helps. Any thoughts on gearing?

For what it is the car doesn't do too bad. My best launch ever was that 1.606 I think. They typically range from 1.65x-1.69x. I can't wait to see how losing the front sway bar, putting battery in rear and then adding the coil overs, manual rack, and tubular front K and and a arms help. I don't plan on changing gear ratio now. My 295/55/15 Mickey ET street SS's measure out to be about 27.5" tall and I'm planning on going to a Hoosier 28x10 slick for next season. Even on the 150 I just about hit rev limiter as I cross line and it seems to stop pulling up top at about the 1100-1200' mark. I think a taller gear would hurt me.

I was looking at your slip thinking either you were running out of gear OR you were upshifting way past the 1/8, killing your top end. You did great to launch with front sway still attached.

Considered a lithium battery? You'd drop 30 lbs off the nose AND you wouldn't have to add all that copper wire.
