This is a noob question i am sure but when someone says cam only, it doesnt literally mean just a cam and the rest of the car is bone stock right?

 

Yes, its very misleading but thats true.

 

True but must people saying cam only also have exhaust and bolt ons. While the rest of the motor is stock and heads untouched.

 

Strong 1/8 mph but that 1/4 mile trap should be upper 120s, you def need to get rid of those 4.56s. They are hurting your mph bad, what does it run on motor?

 

I agree with smokey, I ran 10.82 @ 126.20 mph cam only(TR230/224) and 150 shot. 4.11 gear in a M6.

Great times though.

 

i ran out of gear at about the 1100ft mark.. my 1000ft mph was 117mph.. i coasted through the traps.. i gotta change to 4.11s soon and i will hit 126 - 128 mph easy..

car ran 11.56 @ 116 mph on motor... only made 2 motor passes that day..

 

Congrats ,but i would think it def has more left in it on motor.You skould be picking up more mph on the jug ,4.56 are mad crazy!Hell my 4.10s are almost too much.

I'd check to see what the timing is on the car, since you have it tuned it may have too much timing to add n20.

Also might want to see what plugs you have and switch to a colder n20 plug.

why go 100 when you can go 150

 

yea cam and n20 seam to be the best way go go fast on a budget. i hope to trap 116mph cam only and throw a 100-150 shot to get over 126 but less then 130
i have 26" tires and 3.90 with a 6500 shiftpoint

28 x 10.5 x 15s.. ET DRAGS................. it has alot more in it on motor... i gotta nail down the 60ft and i am still running the stock LS1 intake with crappy SLP LTs....

 

don't 2000's come with ls6 intakes?

 

When you get the 4.11's in, switch to a drag radial. You will be amazed. I have run similar numbers with my cam/bolt-on/N2O car (3.90 gears). I used to run with 27x10.5/15 ET Streets (cheater slicks). My best run with them was a 10.89 @ 126 with a 1.53 60'. I switched to M/T 275/60/15 Drag Radial and have gone 10.48 @ 126 with a 1.40 60'. Thats a lot of time cut off by just switching tires.

 

No, only 2001 and 2002. 2000's still had the LS1 intake.

If its not too much to ask, could you list your other mods? And what does your car weigh? I'm going to aim for mid 10's in the summer. Have cam only car with 3800 stall now, and a nitrous kit waiting to go on the car. Hoping to make it to 10's. I have quite a bit of weight reduction done too

 

also what are your cam specs?
