Default Extreme budget built 13.00 camaro

Just thought it would be cool to show some ppl how fun and affordable these f bodies are. Talked my best friend into coming over to the dark side by buying a 2002 a z28 2.73s all bone stock besides a lid and a flowmaster shity 245/55/16 pos tires. He stole it at 3000 bucks. Ran 13.6 @ 103 first night out with a da of 2800. Did all the free mods and gutted the cats came back 3 weeks later with a da of 800 ran a 13.012 @ 107. With a couple of more runs he prob would of broke 12s but the track closed up on us. But for 3000 gs for a car that gets 21 mpg and has ac not to bad. Not posting up for great times or anything just think its neat for 3gs u can have a 12 second DD with AC.

The huge gain came from mostly much better da. I would say less than .2 was from the mods he did.

I have a bottom 11 full wright car I'm shooting for 10s with next track visit. It's a budget heads cam build. You can run in the 10s with a dd full weight with awesome street manners for under 2k$ if you are smart about it.

They are pretty great machines!

Pics/vids of car?

Just a guess.

damn ur good.

And yea we know the da helped alot just posted it up cause I think its cool that u can have a DD with ac under 3000 dollars that runs 12s.

We are trying to do a big budget build and see how fast it will go. Any suggestion?

My guess right?

No doubt man.. One of my good friends bought a 2000 z28 in very good shape with 140k miles for 4200$. Bought a basic wet kit, I talked him into, for 400$ and hit it with a 100 shot. Had around 4700$ in the entire car at this point.. From a 40 roll he put a fender on another buddy with afr heads,224 cam, fast intake, etc 02 ws6 that he paid 16.5k for. Needless to say, he was pleased!

Have a lot of suggestions.. Depends on a few things.. What is exact budget? What are expected goals with said budget in mind, et? Any other info will help me narrow down what will or wont make him happy..

He wants a choppy cam is his biggest thing he wants. But we are going to do headers 4.10s stall first and then heads cam down the road.

yes they can be bought cheap nowadays and made relatively fast with little effort. both my ls1 cars were in the 3200-3800 range with mods in sig , the stick car went 11.95 for the guy i got it from and I was there that night to see one of his 11.9x passes .I was in a w body gtp running 12.2 @118 that I had under 4k into also.

A guy on one of the fwd w body forums I am on just went 11.92 @117 with under a grand total with mods and car purchase but it is pretty well gutted lol I think $800 and change was his total

I love budget performance since you have so little risk - blow it up and its usually worth more in parts for whats left lol , I am glad ls1 f bodies can now be bought "right" for us cheap bastards now to figure out a way to replace the broken parts cheaply

I'm sure after you figure out what's up with it that car will be flying.
