195,xxx miles in the 12's
Got a wild hair the other day and decided to run my car against all good judgement. It has 195,xxx miles on the original motor, trans, and rear end. Mods to the car are stall, lid, longtubes, true duals. No tune. Rims and tires were 18" c5 DD in the rear with 315 R888's. Car also has 2:73's Went 12.95 @ 99.94mph

Well yeah, it falls on its face once it gets up in the rpm range. I don't really care what it runs on this set up. Just did it to see what it would do. It's heading into a nice little build over the winter. Been stacking parts up on my floor for a while now. lol

nice 60 ft , you should really spend the money and get a frost tune for the time being , it will wake it up so much more . i know your doing a build this winter but it will help for sure.

Build details in a nutshell are running a Huron Speed turbo kit on a 5.3 through a 6spd. I'm collecting all my parts as of right now. Of course this takes time. Its not the fastest of the fbodies I've had over the years. It just shocked the crap out of me to still cut a 12 with bolt ons with high mileage. I had thought about throwing an ls6 intake and tune on it. I'm actually installing springs, shocks, lca's, relocation brackets, and adj panhard rod this morning. Car isn't intended to be a drag car. A happy et with solid mph will make me happy. Just always wanted to build a turbo car.

not bad for an auto.. but for comparisons sake, i went 8.37@85.26 1.95 60' 5.49 330'.. which equates to a 12.8x. ------193,XXX miles. Lid and free mods only. 12 yr old dry rotted street tires that go flat in 8 hrs

back when my bolt on m6 car "only" had 215,000 on it it ran 11.95 with stock internals original LS1/originalT56/original 342 10 bolt (still going strong today also with 236000 miles) ...
highway miles arent that hard on a car , its a lot more tempting to hammer a car from stop signs , low rolls etc...than when your commuting at 70 and 1800 rpm lol , pretty easy on a car.

The car would trap a lot higher with a better gear. The 2:73's are killing it. I mean my previous cars all trapped a good 5-9mph higher with less or equal mods. Again, I only ran it for a good laugh. just picked up my 5.3 last week. :-)
