Default In the 12s, 3 mods only on M6

I did this two weeks ago, but I forgot to post. The car has only 3 performance mods which include, QTP Longtubes, TSP Duals, SLP Lid. The car also has a short shifter, 160 thermostat, and all the free mods done to it. The car is tuned as well. The car is full power with T-tops. Only the tools and spare tire were removed.

Car made 352whp\355wtq, tuned on the dyno.

Car was on 245/55/16 street tires lowered to 18psi. Temperature was 86 degrees F. Did a medium slip off the line to minimize wheel spin and nailed every short shift quickly. I made two passes that night. This is the best of the two:

R/T --------- 0.860
60' --------- 1.988
330' -------- 5.466
1/8 --------- 8.350
MPH -------- 86.92
1000' ------- 10.619
1/4 --------- 12.798
MPH -------- 113.92

This was as clean of a run as I could have hoped for. I don't think the car will go faster than this on the general bolt ons with street tires. Maybe mid 12s with drag radials, but that's it.

Not really. It's about average for a full bolt on M6 with a tune.

That's a lot more than 3 mods, haha. But a great trap speed. Nice job.

Looks/sounds like your car is damned near identical to mine. Nice run

Get some DR tires, w/ your trap speed you could run mid to low 12's-if the stock clutch and rear hold up.

Nope. Just 3 performance mods. The rest of the mods do nothing for engine performance, and are for the engine reliability or deleted misc. crap from the engine bay.

Rear seems to be good as I am slipping the clutch out to not cause a racket back there. The stock clutch however is starting to get mushy and mildly slips every now and then on a quick shift. Next modifications will be reliability mods (Moser 12 and some sort of aftermarket clutch).

Very nice runs. I have a few questions if ya don't mind:

-What was the shift RPM, as asked above?
-What was the Track DA at the time of your runs?
-What's the year of your car?

1. I was shifting right around 5600-5700RPMs. Because I'm on the stock camshaft, most of the power peaks under the RPM range. So there is no need to completely wind out the motor, as the power falls off a bit towards the end. Shifting at 5600-5700RPMs puts you smack back into the beginning part of peaking power band. Also the tachometer reads a bit slow from what I've noticed.

2. Track elevation is 70' above sea level, and the temperature was 86 degrees F. This is in Florida. It's mostly flat around here.

3. My car is a 2001 regular Z28 M6.

Mustang dyno my friend. I was a bit surprised, since I was expecting numbers around your output. A good tune goes along way.

Update, going to the track tonight with a set of drag radials that I'm borrowing from a friend. Assuming the stock clutch holds up, I should put out some impressive times.

Very similar to my car with those same 3 power mods, QTP's/TD's/lid (tuned of course) = 12.87 @ 112 2.0 '60.

Great job man!

Edit- We made close to the same power too! I made 355/357 haha, thats awesome!

You need to powershift, it will give you 2.-.3 , made a huge difference for me and with the stock clutch as well and less mods I went 12.6, untuned. :

What RPM are you launching at? Also are you power shifting? What tire pressure did you run? Thanks!
