Default LS7 / C6R Velocity Stack Induction/Injection

Hi, I have a couple questions, and am wondering what some of the more experienced opinions are here.

I'm interested in buying an LS7 when they become available, but I would like to either fit the OEM velocity stack injection/induction manifold used on the C6R to the engine, or model one on that and fit that.

I don't think I will be able to buy an LS7 minus the intake manifold/throttle body & and controller/injectors/fuel rails and pressure regulator/beauty covers/camshaft/pushrods/exhaust manifolds, so my first and foremost question is, "Are there any parts centers that I could sell these 100% unused components back to?"

I am not interested in using these components, and don't want them.

My second question is, "Will the C6R velocity stack injection/induction manifold become available anytime soon after the crate LS7?"

All comments and questions are welcome. I would appreciate any info (preferably with sources if possible) that I can get on these topics.

I think the injection on the C5R was sourced fron Kinsler. they have a website, not sure what it is. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Default Harrop 8TB manifold

You may want to consider the Harrop Hurricane manifold as we are now tooling up a version for the LS7 & C5R heads.

The intake ports on the C5R and Ls7 are similar, but the Kinsler and the Harrop are set up for C5R heads which has a slighly different bolt pattern. from my understanding, you'd need to change the bolt pattern on the Ls7 head to use an 8TB intake, or use C5R heads.

As for the re-sale of parts. You probably need to go the ebay route, or sell them on a site like this one. Most dealerships aren't going to buy takeoffs. Some of the more performance oiented shops like SDPC might. But you'd need to contact them.

Kinsler makes the C5R and C6R stuff. Its a Kinsler base, and Advanced Composite makes the intake tubes. They are a GM/Pratt Miller design, and not for sale as far as I know. So you'd probably need to fabricate your own.

The Harrop unit is a very nice piece.

I'd budget about $5-10K over the price of a Ls7 crate to do an 8TB setup and want to mimic the C5R setup. Less if you don't mind making some allowances

Thanks for the compliment.
The new LS7 Hurricane we are currently tooling for will be a direct CNC'd match for the LS7 port, and will be drilled to suite the LS7 (LS1-6) mounting bolts.
We will also off a "small cast port" version that can be CNC ported to suit a modified head port shape.

On a 383 with a mild street cam, typical increase over standard LS6 manifold is >40HP.
On a 427 with big heads & cam, we saw >70HP increase over a Fast 90.

We have 1 guy who has fitted it to a C5. There was some interference with the cowl (which was trimmed) and the left air-pod needed modifying to fit around the power steering reservoir. I will try & find the photos (he is based in Germany!).

It only uses as much as it needs to create the relevant power ... it is not much different (if at all) than the standard manifold for cruising ... the amount of fuel used is almost directly proportional to the gains.

Default height difference

what is the height difference in a Harrop and fast intake/ls6? From the diagram I recieved it appears to be about 1 inch or 2.25 cm. Is this correct?

It is about 20mm taller to the highest point of the centre cover, and about 40mm taller to the highest point of the trumpet flange/air-pod mount.

We do not have any version of F-bodies in Aussie ... so we have not been able to confirm a fit.
Not being a forum sponsor, I suspect I am "not allowed" to post the price ... sorry.
Email me at ken@harrop.com.au for drawings/images and pricing.
