BTW, The "awww" factor with this intake under your hood is priceless.
thats the best part...people looking under there trying to figure out what the hell is going on

I'm all ears if you want to share. I'll probably give out ballpark specs on mine once we determine if it works...I will share this though....LSA is going to be less than or equal to 107

I *think* I picked up alot with a simple quick portmatch.
I cant say enough about the head to intake matching. I port matched the intake to the heads this weekend and after about 6 hours of die grinder work I was done.

Each of my ports LITERALLY had about 1/8" all the way around on the intake that I had to grind off and blend up the throat. I also knocked off all the casting bumps anywhere the grinder could reach which was a whole lot.

I probably took a pound of aluminum out of the intake. No joke.

The good thing is they make nice thick flanges so you can take away a lot of material but still have a lot left. I cant stress enough how this is NOT an "out of the box" bolt on for max performance.

Guys, FWIW the single plane LS1 intake can use a lot of work. I have one that's undergoing surgery now in the shop before it gets ported.

lol

basically it's what I and a very good head porter feel needs to be done to these things to make them work in a drag race motor.... the other two smart asses here know what's going on.

If I had to guess what the "surgery" was, I would think it involves transplanting a 4500 series flange in place of the restrictive 4150
.....but I could be way off!

That might be it..... might be something else or a few more things.

Then again, the question is why would you want to do that?

4500=DOMINATOR .....the name says it all! All the extra airflow does'nt hurt either.

You cant really have too much TB on an EFI motor.

----

Im gonna say "surgery" involves a 4500 flange and injector angles. Maybe a few other little tricks that i dont know about.

You can have too much plenum area, that's always a problem. It will make more power but lay over like crazy on the shifts. I ran into a guy who had this problem on his setup.... he picked up 35hp going from a single 4 tunnel ram to a dual 4. His trap increased appropriately but his ET died a lot due to no recovery between the 1-2 shift (it was a PG) The next thing he was going to try is a higher stall to try and get that back (bumped it another 400rpm)

Now when you have 2 shifts rather than 1, it can hurt you more. The elbow setups help the plenum area, and it's not like we are talking about a sheetmetal tunnel ram setup here so it's not huge.... Add on to that unless you are over 700hp your not going to see a gain to going with more throttle body than a 90mm can give you.

So you really think a Dom flange is worth it for that reason? I'll tell you it's some work to convert that over to that.

Yes. I can't see what kind of other "surgery" this manifold would need. The only
other thing I can think of is if you cut it up to really access the inside for port
work and then welded it together. I have this manifold but I didnt think it would be that hard to port with the short runners-I could be wrong.
I don't know if you race your car competitively but adding a Dom flange would make sense in that situation. Feel free to PM me, I can keep a secret

All depends on what you want to do with the manifold... i'm not using it for your average build.
