Thoughts on Dexcool v.s. Green
Maybe someone can find that article...
Its also interesting to note that GM chose to use Dexcool in the Pontiac Vibe while Toyota REFUSED to put it in the Matrix......Same car, same plant...

They probably haven't tested Dexcool in the motor themselves, so they just figure play it safe and stick with what they use in their other cars. Makes sense.
GM uses Dexcool in their cars, and they have tested it extensively, so they stick with that.
Can't make everyone happy.
Once again, I would use what the car was DESIGNED with in mind.
I also think that until some scientific data regarding the differences in DexCool and Green coolant is presented, that we cannot make any CONCLUSIVE decisions.
I think the problem with Chaco's seals was not due to the coolant, but probably a manufacturing/installation error with the seals that showed up 40k miles down the road.
I know MANY people with cars that have Dex in them and have not heard of any of them having seals being eaten by the Dexcool alone.
I sure hope Dexcool is OK because my dad's brand new Duramax has a BUNCH in it and I don't think he wants to take it to the dealer for eaten away seals...
