I'm going to go get a new alternator to put on hopefully tomorrow. I spent all weekend at the lake so nothing got accomplished in the shop over the last 4 days, but today i did a little. I got my ATI damper on, test fit my headers, and took a few pictures to post. If all goes as planned, i will make a little progress between now and the weekend and on saturday i'm going to start working on getting the K-member/A-arms/coil overs/engine/tranny assembled and in the car.

Once it's done, i'm going to borrow a welder and get the torque arm and driveshaft loop installed. THEN, i will hopefully load the car up and bring it home where i will finish it when funds are available. I still need new knock sensors and a crankshaft sensor on the engine, as well as a water pump and obviously an intake.

ah, you have the newer style high velocity merge collectors. I HAD a set of those in 1 7/8" x 3" but decided i wanted 2" instead. 69TA on here had an older style of 2" and we traded straight across. the newer style HVMC i'm sure makes the header more efficient, but i'm not trading anything off i don't think. your headers probably have an extra bung for a wideband sensor too, huh? my old ones did, but the new 2" don't.

Very sick looking setup. I got to see the car in person, and let me say that i am in love! Good luck on the build. I might have to drive up again just for a ride!

When/Where'd you get to see it? Come on up whenever you want, when it's done you'll all know. Heck, come up and help work on it if you want

got a little more done today...this thread's title is actually starting to apply to the car's situation

I drilled out the LS2 knock sensor locations and tapped the holes to accept the LS1 sensors. A new alternator got bolted on. I took the oil pan off and installed the new bolts i got and tightened it for the last time. A new crank position sensor was put in.

The old K-member/A-arm/shock/steering assembly was dropped out of the car after it was put on jackstands and disassembled. The power steering system, Bilstein shocks/springs, and my old Canton oil pan are all sold or pending sale to fund my new Madman manual rack.

Tomorrow i'm going back out to finish the teardown and clean-up of the old parts for their new owners and hopefully will be mating up the engine to the transmission and getting it put into the UMI front suspension.

I am so late to this thread. I just looked through it. Very long and interesting thread. Can't wait to see some first start up vids, and then dyno pulls. She's going to scream. What kind of power do you think she'll make ? 6xx rwhp 6xx rwtq or more ??
