nope, can't get them without buying the 454LSX crate motor from GMPP. i still need to call them and find out officially. they 454 LSX valve covers are no longer in the GMPP catalog, but they are shown on the crate motor....

I like the satin Chevrolet valve covers that you've got on it now. IMO they're the classiest looking covers made for us. I think your car is the first Fcar that I've seen them in. Don't change a thing!

ok...wow...lots of things have happened in the last couple days, let me give you all a quick rundown:

Intake and TB are great, but my fuel rails don't work on the intake. i didn't know the LSXR only accepts LS2-style fuel rails or the FAST billet rails that are somewhat unavailable. Another problem is the intake wouldn't clear the valley cover spout OR the windshield wiper cowl. i had to remove the intake gaskets for the rear two cylinders to get it to slide back and sit down AFTER i beat the valley cover spout down with a mallet (rotated it, didn't bend it).

I also received the only 4.25" ID silicone coupling i could find for the lid/TB connection and it ended up being 3" too short...so after some more late night searching i found a 12" stick of 4.25" silicone tube and ordered it. it should be here tomorrow i believe.

After some searching and PM'ing and more searching and phone calls...Tony Mamo comes up with a set of the billet FAST rails for me, they should be here thursday or even tomorrow. Big thanks to Tony on that one.

The BIG thing that's happened here recently (yesterday) is i now find myself in an interesting situation. i've been promised one of the first sets of a new cylinder head design (big port cathedral offering obviously), which for the time being will remain anonymous . They won't be ready for at least a few weeks, so in the mean time i've been pondering the situation and decided to put my heads up for sale in a sort of "feeler" thread. Mere moments after posting i get a PM from a member here wanting to know how much of a deposit i would need and when i could ship them. The new head looks VERY promising and i've "gone big" everywhere else, so i didn't want to feel like i left anything to be desired in the top end, which is pretty critical in the horsepower department obviously. After talking with some certain individual(s), i've decided this is the route i want to go if i can sell my current heads for enough to help fund the changes. i just think it will make for a more efficient combination overall. i'll be sure to keep you all updated on this situation.

Regardless of the head situation, i should be able to start the car again this week/weekend when the new fuel rails get here and see if i can get it to idle on its own properly.

Since everything else will be the best of the best, you should also consider getting a Harrop intake now for that thing. Considering all the buying and selling of all the intakes and stuff you've had to do, I would think it wouldn't have costed much more to begin with.

yeah yeah yeah...well i DID try seems like they were around $2500 when i first got turned on to them...now they're twice that i'm always keeping my eyes out for new/used ones online, but i don't think that will ever happen. i just don't want to fool with one now. i suppose if a good enough deal came up, i'd consider it, but i don't see it happening. i'm actually not in this new 102mm for much more than i was to begin with. i've come out good enough on a few parts and made money on enough things that i'm not really getting hurt on anything.

OK! Got it all back together...but it was kind of a pain. the holes on the intake didn't line up with the heads as well as the 90/92mm manifold i've had did. i had to get one or two bolts started and shift intake around and get a couple more, until had them all started. I made the mistake of the putting the fuel rails on first, which made it difficult to tighten the intake bolts once it was on the engine. THEN, my brake booster hose had to be stretched a bit to reach the booster, my fuel crossover hose was almost not long enough all of a sudden, and my fuel feed line had to be re-routed to properly attach to the fuel rail...it was kind of a pain in the *** really.

Next issue was the throttle cam hit the water pump. I had to take a file and knock the corner off the bottom. It's all good now.

Everything is on though, i did get the car started. discoverd my high IAC counts were still there, ended up drilling a 1/4" hole in the TB and they finally dropped down to 40-60 where they're supposed to be. i'm looking at possibly driving the car this weekend now. i'm hoping i don't have any more speed bumps, i'd like to get some miles on it before i do the head swap i'm trying to pull off
