Well, I'm at 34.5 months now and closing in one three years. I'm not building anything near as complicated as you guys are either.

Not much happening right now unfortunately. I'm trying to get the tune lined out, the car is way too rich and dies once it goes into closed loop around 110*F. I did manage to finish my coil brackets and powdercoat them. i also mounted the headlights, but took them back off yesterday to take all the brackets to get powdercoated as well. The interior is all back together, too.

i'm really struggling with the tune situation. Frost did a mail order for me and it doesn't seem to be right, and if it is, i can't find a mechanical issue to explain what the car is doing. Nobody in my area has any tuning abilities, the nearest guy is an hour away and won't answer his phone or return my calls OR emails....so i'm pretty much dead in the water right now. anyway, here are some pics of the coils installed:

also, i'm going to get some black plug wires...they don't make a "universal cut to length" kit for the LSx in any color besides red, but i finally found all the part numbers for the connectors and 25' of bulk 8.5mm wire, in black

got the car home today, technically i did drive it, but only from the street in front of my house up the driveway and into the garage....but it was enough to empty 6 houses up and down the street and make everyone wonder why God was so pissed

Blake @ 417 Motorsports is supposed to be getting ahold of me tomorrow and we're going to go over the tune to see what's up. hopefully it will be good enough to put some miles on it soon. i can already tell the car is going to be a handful to drive, way too much power, no AC, and no power steering....man, i'm retarded...

Don't take this the wrong way, but honestly man, I was thinking the same thing. No power steering and no AC is a BIG no-no IMO. AC is a must in Louisiana, and I didn't have power steering on my 69 for a while, and even though it wasn't hard to deal with, at low speeds, it got old, and fast...It made it kinda hard to carve the corners, which is more what I like than the 1320.

does this mean the engine bay is losing free space?

there's free space, but not nearly as much as i had imagined. i forgot how bulky all the factory wiring was. all the stuff on the driver's side is clean, but looks like a mess. all the wires, brake lines, steering shaft, oil filter mount, oil lines, etc are all in one spot and there's pretty much nothing on the passenger side....just the way it worked out. if i wanted to add any FI down the road, i'd have to rebuild the front end again to get room for everything.

after some troubleshooting and brain-picking, it's looking like there is a very real possibility that the only problem with the car is that it doesn't have exhaust on it. The O2's are too close to the outside atmosphere to get accurate readings on the A/F ratio, making the car think it's lean when it actually isn't, and dumping tons of fuel into it.

It's going to get some pipes put on monday and we'll see what happens

My NGK wideband recommends 10 exhaust diameters away from the tail pipe, so on a 3" exhaust that would be 30" away from the exit. I imagine that you are getting lots of air pollution.

3.5" off the headers into a Flowmaster Y-merge. the merge is dual 3.5" inlets with a single 4" outlet. There will be a 4" Dynomax bullet stuck to the merge, or possibly a couple inches after it depending on what thing look/sound like, with a turndown on the end of the bullet.

no regrets though, too late now anyway.

Got my exhuast pipe ordered from Jegs today. Nobody in town or surrounding areas has the capability to bend 3.5" pipe, so i've got some U-bends and straight pipe in the mail and will weld it up myself this weekend. Of course it will all be smoothed down and ceramic coated to match the headers and pics will be posted hopefully this also solves my rich condition and idle issues. IF that's the case, all i'll lack is painting the hood and getting some decent tires

You'll need more than decent tires...

You definitely need some BAD ***, Sticky ***, Wide ***, Tires. Or you might just melt them every time you get that "voice in your head that drives your heel"

i have that setup on my car.. actually QTP uses that flowmaster Y on their pipe... hopefully your setup clears better than mine, i swapped from TDs and the clearance isnt any better up front (all the way till the pipe reduces and stars going behind the pass seat).

love those little quirky prollembs
