My new carpet and 60$ sound deadening install (pics)
Progress from start to finish. I got some duct insultation stuff from lowes. 4 rolls for 65$ shipped. Wasn't enough to finish the front part of the car though. You need atleast 6 rolls to do the car, not including the doors. Overall I'm very happy with it, and it made quite a noticeable difference, and I love the new carpet smell. Yes, I repaired my floorboard with some fiberglass.

If you noticed a difference with just a few rolls of Frost King then you will LOVE using a quality sound deadener.
I put 160sq.ft. of deadener and 5 rolls of Frost King in my car and it's amazing.
Two problems with buying legit sound deadener though: it's expensive and it's heavy.
Brian made a good point with focusing on the doors and wheel wells.
I drove my car without the doors done for about 8 months.
Once I finally put the deadener on the doors it was a vast improvement.

Yeah, I left the fenders and doors because I wanted to get the areas where I couldn't get later with carpet on. I'm ordering more rolls to do the fenders and the doors. But I noticed a difference big time with my cheap *** lowes ****. For 15$ a roll and only weighing like 3lbs a roll, why not. I got the carpet from stockinteriors, agate color. Had to cut it.

For real.
That makes sense.
And that's where my carpet came from, stockinteriors.
My carpet fit rather well and it looks like yours did too.
Nice job.

I layered just the door panels on mine with Frost King a month or two ago and it made a very noticable difference for me. Got rid of the rattle-clunk from the lock/handle mechanisms too by strategically placing pieces here and there. Definitely worth the time I spent and the minimal weight that it added. Going to be pulling the door panels off soon to check for anything amiss... Will eventually do the whole interior!
P.S. I don't want vibration reduced to the point of a BMW, but stock these F-bodies are just **** when it comes to unwanted noise. Frost King was a practical way of accomplishing this.

They are totally different compounds and block totally different sounds.
I went with Damplifier by Second Skin, Brian used eDead.
They are both butyl (well, eDead is now butyl) and what fortmyerspolice laid down is foam.
You're best bet is to lay a butyl or asphalt mat then lay foam over it.
If you want to go to cheap and don't mind some asphalt smell (when it's really hot) then go to Lowes and pick up some Peel-N-Seal.
