Looks like it's held in by black duct tape.

Like I said, it was more of "just do it" project...I mean how many people would hack into their high dollar hood, still fresh from being painted a custom color???
....see what I mean, not an easy thing to do...

Besides, I have a brand new SUNOCO sitting in my livingroom waiting to be painted with my engine bay.

This baby will only be with me till this weekend.

Did you only paint the portion you used filler on? If thats what you did, then I would paint a flat black stripe as wide as needed instead of the square. I like the idea, a magnacharger would look badass under that hood.

Yep, I didn't want to leave exposed primer on my car...it has an "image" to uphold...

Wow. That looks great.

Props to you for having the guts to cut a hole in a Sunoco hood!

All I can say is that it looks awesome! How many would dare to do something like that to a very nice hood! I like how it came out.

this is a wild guess

but...

did you have to cut a piece off the hood and mail it back to vfn to show some sort of defect - so they could send you a new hood

because you knew it was their fault and they would send you a new one, you took the risk to "cut" the hood to show them- instead of pay the ridiculusly expensive shipping charges?

I would definitely buy a hood just like that if the window was more flush like the new ZR1 Corvette hoods.....that is a great idea!! Gives it kind of an updated look
