And in regards to the struts.
We do explain to customers that they can either use their existing struts or some customer's struts may have too much tension in them and they will need to switch them over to a lighter strut. I've told many customers this and so has our guy and the other lady who answers the phones...but
Because the customer stated he was not told this, was one reason we had no problem sending him the new hood...but we did expect the old hood to become garbage and not sold.
We also explained to him how to eliminate the little "dimple" that appeared because of his struts, which should have worked for him...I don't see them in the pictures anymore and he is selling the hood so I'm not sure on how that is an issue at this point either.

I could take some more photos to show you the dimple is still there if you want...

just from a customers point of view, VFN is doing a great job resolving this. But if the factory struts can damage the hood or the paint, then simply saying we have it stated verbally over the phone is not enough. It needs to be in writing either beneath the for sale area or in directions you receive with the hood. Because saying I said this has no evidence compared to its written here.

either way the hood window is interesting, could look great with a little more love.

vfn to save future customers shipping costs you cold always allow them to chop the hood up and just put it in a new box thats not huge (just wieghs a decent amount) and not send them a new one until the chopped one comes back. just a thought.

of course they would have to send pics of said flaws before chopping and shipping.

just an idea

It is sad to say but there are alot of people that do this. It is a problem many companies have. They have to take the customers word for it, and in some cases (Like this one) the company gets the *** end of the deal. The whole idea of cutting a portion is to keep PR good and shipping costs down. It would make more sense to make them cut 2 "major/important sections from the hood. Not from the center but rather the main section that the hood bolts to on each side and/or the center front where the hood latch is.

BTW - you guys make a very nice product.

Why?
Because we were told that it was a defected hood and it was painted and there were imperfections in the paint. We asked for pictures, and we did receive them...along with his "body guy's" phone number...to eventually find out that this "body guy" was not actually a body guy and instead a friend used to save money (insurance payout)...and they cut corners while painting...
It had nothing to do with fitment issues or any defect on our end..
But to be fair and nice about the situation....
we were nice enough to send him a new FREE hood as long as he cut a chunk of the old hood out and send it to us - for us that would prove that he would not be using the old hood anymore...
But I see that we were scammed now too...and will have to change our policy for helping people accordingly. Sometimes that one person in the bunch is enough to change the way things are sent out from us....
I'm not posting this to bash anyone...but before anyone starts saying how it's unfair to have this customer pay shipping, etc..etc...I want people to know the real story behind it.
I think the window is a great idea and it looks good...too bad it was from a hood that you're selling that should actually be returned back to us in exchange for your new one.
Karma's bitch. I will leave it at that. I feel even now.
I buy plenty from sponsers on here but you will never see another cent of my money.

I've always had good experiences with VFN but that is just my personal experience...

I like the idea of the window especially if there is a magna charger under there...

I personally REALLY like the MS4 emblems so much so that I almost considered a F13 emblem for my car (maybe not the cowl but somewhere else...)....

Just my $.02

Way to contribute to the thread. At least next time, *hopefully*, you can make all of your 'thoughts' into complete sentences.

Kudos to someone willing to cut into a hoot. Working with fiberglass is a bit more challenging than it looks, at least for me. Very creative!

PS
VFN - you might as for a diagonal piece including the mount bracket. Repairing that stress area would be a bigger challenge.

very badass, try to color match the sides better and the inner part of the hood (depth of the hood) so you dont see the inner layer of the hood.

Looks sweet. Are there any issue with the plexi-glass possibly melting/getting soft from engine/sun heat? I agree it could be a little clearer, and now there's gotta be some goody to show off lol.
