Default what can I do to dress my car up a bit?

My car looks to plain to me now I want to dress up the engine bay and also the car itself. It is a red SS with chrome 10 spoke wheels. Can anyone give me any ideas? I was thinking white face gauges for inside. Need advice on engine bay though it plain jain.

Get some convoluted tubing, get mba engine dress up items, get stainless and/or anodized bolts and washers, get things chromed, or covered in carbon fiber!! These are just a few ideas!!

1. Paint your calipers and put the caliper decals on them.

2. Fuel rail covers.

3. NO convoluted tubing. Ick.

4. Z06 style gauges with the T/A bezel.

5. Hoodscoop decals.

6. Retro dashplate.

I just painted my calipers, clear corners, clear markers, hood scope fill in, and some zaino for the black.

I do agree with all your suggestions though.. Ive never been a fan of coveluted tubing (in colors).. Not to flame but TO ME it seemed to make the car look like its owned by a kid.. In my world I try to make the wiring dissapear.. not stand out.. Just my .02

First thing you need to do is pick an accet color.. black, silver, etc.. then stick with the plan.. for the exterior i would reccommend:

New Grill: wings west, billet, SLP, etc
Rear fillin lettering.. black carbon fiber, red carbon fiber or silver??

for the engine FRC's do the biggest improvement.. a strut tower brace not only looks good but is functional as well.. You can do a lot in the engine area without spending big $$$.. just reroute wires to hide them.. remove stickers and such.. You could even get the brackets plated if you like (red chrome??) The main thing is to have fun and be consitant.. here is my engine area

The big items get their attention but the details are what wins it

Steve, Your engine compartment looks amazing but I'd recommend the 5.7L fuel rail cover decals for your car....

He said he had chrome 10-spokes so I figured they'd have the SS logo on them already.

Seriously, if anyone is wondering how to spruce up their engine compartment, look no further than Steve's or Andy's.

I think Chris Endres' old engine bay setup was the best looking I've ever seen. C5-R valvecovers, relocated coil packs, aluminum paint colored intake manifold, etc.... Here is a picture:

Mikey also had a nice looking red setup with a red painted intake.

Looked like a real V8 under there!

I would HIGHLY recommend the CAMARO caliper decals.. i got nothing but compliments on mine and was barraged with "where did you get those??" questions.. its the ONE thing i miss about my old brakes..

Tony: I have a pic of that engine.. VERY clean.. but for those of us with TCS, ABS and AC in the way its tough to relocate the coil packs.. I dont have room to host but I will email you the pick..

I long for the day when I get the C5R covers and relocate my colis. That is a classic racecar look, isn't it? I'll post pics when it's all put back together again.

Steve, I'm working on it!

Yep.. that is one clean engine.. and the reason it looks like a race car engine is because it is!! lol

Steve, quite a few guys have relocated their coil packs up underneath the winsheild cowl or on the firewall. They actually look better hidden up back there. I just like the look of this silver intake and the clean valvecovers myself. Stock LS1s are BUTT-UGLY. GM could actually take a lesson from Ford on the "appearance" of a motor, but we know who needs the lessons when it comes to performance.

GM cant even give us fuel rail covers of some sort..

Im waiting for someone to come out with a coil relocation kit (them brackets ive seen online look complicated to make) lol
