Nova5, I noticed the guts of your projectors, like the reflector bowls, solenoids & accompanying electronics, are exposed to the elements. Won't that be a concern? I'm asking since I am in the process of retrofitting E46 bixenons in my 94 TA, and literally losing sleep over how to make the projectors watertight

Oops I actually meant solid state controller. It's a tiny little device about the size of a quarter that controls the high beam solenoid on E46 projectors. For those who want to go the DIY route, HIDplanet has a schematic for a circuit that involves capacitors, diodes and a relay to achieve the same functionality.

However, the E46 projectors I am using have a 3-wire pigtail that requires a special circuit to operate the pull and hold solenoids for the high beam shield. The solid state controller provides this circuit.

Oh, I didn't realize the e46 was like that. I thought it was like most other bi-xenon projectors which just have a simple 2-wire connection for the solenoid.

Came back to this site looking for info on a drivers door hinge.. went back into this old thread of mine.. dammit I could not SPELL! Horrible.. just horrible I say!
Anyway, I did have a new setback... Water issues. heavy enough rains penetrated into the projectors without the clear covers in place (lost them on the freeways at 80..) SO I have to replace those. The bulbs do not like getting wet. I ended up going to Lowe's and finding a clear caulk, truly clear (not the translucent they called clear in the past, this is almost as clear as glass) and sealed around the edges of the tub spout ring and the blocker plates to prevent future water penetration.
