Don't worry we are going to make them. That's a promise from me.

Thanks, Roger

As I am checking into this, and after going to Sears, and Autozone, I need some clarification.

I have dimensions for the 34/78, the 75/25, a 25 model, and the 35 model. These are 4 different batteries.

The reference to a 75/35 model has Sears, Autozone, and myself confused. Even on the Optima battery site there is no 75/35 battery.
There is a model 25, and a model 35, that are the same size, but the posts are switched between negative and positive.
What I need to know is are you guys using a 75/25, or a 25, or a 35?

I think you are using a red top 35 and confusing it with a 75/35 which does not "seem" to exist. I will call Optima tomorrow, but getting this information today
will get them drawn today.

Thanks, Roger

Roger, that is the problem we are all having with these batteries. Mine is a red top that has 75/35 on the label. I have looked for a cover since I bought this battery a few years ago.

Roger, or Matt,

Go to the Optima Website and go to search by model. 98-02 Camaro and Firebird models have the same part number for the red top, and the same model number for the yellow top.

Red Top

75/25 (8022-091)

Yellow Top

D75/25 (8042-218)

It appears that for awhile the 75/35 was not in production, thus the new group number 75/25. The dimensions appear the same. Remember, the power cables on our f-bodies are short thus the need for a side post battery, but our 75/35 are top and side posts, which makes the necessity for a custom made cover.

This might help too!

I looked up all this info when Matt said he wanted me to make a template. If you guys make one I would be glad to test fit it. Let me know if you need anything else.

I will get to the bottom of it tomorrow. I am calling them to tell me what they've done, because all of these batteries are very specific in size. I am very very good with numbers, I just need them to tell we what happened. It seems as though they changed a part number on an existing battery.

Thanks, Roger

So far you are the only one
It looks like we will be able to offer the letters in about 20 different color combinations. I thought they looked very nice.
We have had this idea in the past, just been to busy to try everything we think of.

Thanks,

I can give you a few render from GM's website. I don't have the car yet. It is being built to order. It seems they are going to be pretty tough to acquire. Some dealers told us it would be November before delivery, and we had 1 that said June. We went with the guys who said June.

Here is what we'll be looking at:

It is an SS/RS. We are having it built as a 2SS trim with an RS package, suroof, polished wheels, and the Inferno Orange interior package to match the paint. Of course, we opted for the M6 because you can't get the LS3 with an automatic trans. It's the first car I can think of that has an engine specific to the trans. We didn't want an L99, we wanted an LS3 . It's actually my dad's car, but it will be used for business promotion and part designing - he will make it a giant sculpture in his garage. I'll bet the car never sees the light of the 10,000 mile mark. I will drive it home, and we are going to take it and the 01 T/A to shows together this summer. We will show up in a SOM WS6 and an IOM SS - that is making an impression

We plan to make a lot of things for these cars because we want to be first movers on this car. If you can't already tell, we're F-body nuts over here, and we have thought about getting one of these for a while now. We also tinkered with the idea of getting a C6 Z06 for some time, but there are many more Camaros out there, and therefor, a higher profit pool to pay for the car purchase.

EDIT:

Here are some real interior pictures of the IOM accent package. I didn't take these - I just found them on the web. Only difference from ours will be the transmission:

We're going to see how the stereo likes White zombie and Metallica on the drive home

I assume you can custom order a head plate...is this correct? I would be interested in something like the bird and "402 cubic inch LS2"...something along those lines...would that be possible?

yea i was going to get a 5th gen but the cost was out of my range for now, so i got an 02 z28 with only 24k miles to hold me off for a while.

you think you could make minature z28 zr1 badges like that would fit on gauge face? because that would be a nice little touch, or would it be too hard for the machine?

i could really see this on one of the new camaro's if they ever release the new z28
