cutting down an a4 shift lever

i just ordered the mba shfit **** adapter from the ws6store and am plannnig on cutting down the shift lever. i know you can safely cut it down 3/4" but how low can i cut it. i've heard if you cut too much your screwed.

Die-grinder with a cut-off wheel, or a Dremel tool with the same.
Try the search, there was a thread once with photos & 'how-to'.

thanks but ive searched all those threads before. i know how to cut it, i just want to go as low as i can safely go with out screwing up the shfter plunger.

I did it, got mine to 3/4".

Me too, did two of them last week, cut 1".
Gonna install one, & then probably sell the other.

I cut mine way shorter than normal ... You just have to make sure you dont go past the lil plastic buldge. I mean I like mine but when you go as low as I did .. there is really no support so the shifter is just floating on the lil plastic shift peice and you can feel it. It really doesnt bother me and I like the look better.

But I also have a M6 console now too so It looks great with the boot and everything no matter how low you go.
