Default Clay barred and waxed

So i finally made it around to claybarring and waxing my car. first time attempting to claybar and im sure its the first time the bird has had it done lol. anyway, it took approx. 6 hrs to do it, however, that included cleaning my interior, getting the supplies, and a short dinner break. i couldnt be more stoked on the results--its like a brand new car lol. i used an oribital buffer that steve and i went in one together for the waxing part (Zymol wax) and i got a meguir's claybar kit. Enough talk enjoy;

After interior cleaning:

You're a bitch. Just spend a little cash on some rims already, you still live at home and act like you're broke and in debt and have bills to pay or something, lol. And tint your damn windows!

Car looks great, even though you didn't polish, still didn't use tire shine, and forgot to clean the wheel wells

And I am truly jealous of your car's paint. NBM looks amazing for sure

That turned out great. If you wanted to get rid of all the factory orange peel you could wet sand the car with 1500 then buff with Extra Cut Compound on a very low speed to prevent burning. The results would be glass smooth. New vehicles are getting better and better but still have orange peel. You can see it the most in the hood picture where you are taknig a pic of yourself.

looks good.

now just throw away the orbital and get a Porter Cable and some Menzerna polishes and LC pads. You'll be amazed how much more color there is in your paint

The Porter Cable is the easiest one to learn on, and even as a professional, I still use mine a lot. Don't get me wrong, I love my rotary, but I still go to the PC a lot. VERY useful tool. They run about $110-140. Menzerna makes some of the best polishes. Their SIP and 106FA are designed for hard clear coats (like ours). Lake country makes some of the best pads. (orange, white, and black are a good starting point, in 5.5").

Just do it whenever your car needs it. For most people, the whole process is only necessary once a year. And go read the text I sent you BEFORE you started, I said wash/clay/polish/wax in that order. Not that it matters now, I'm just sayin, lol. And polish isn't just for getting rid of swirl marks, it helps clean/protect/enhance the paint and prepare it for the wax, which is the icing on the cake.

We really should invest in a Porter Cable at some point, go half and half on one like we did the orbital
