Check it out:

This isnt too bad of a price at all. The hood is a carbon copy of the ZL1 hood.
I wonder what this would look like on my white z28?

What does it weigh compared to their fiber glass version?
Can it be painted?
Carbon fiber is not my thing since I am NOT a ricer but if it can be painted and it is lighter than the fiber glass version, then I would definitley get it.

I don't think it would look good on anything except a black car.. I've seen a few ricers running around with black hoods on red cars or blue cars, and it just looks like ***!

I would paint it so you don't look like a Ricer

I've seen CF hoods on ricers around here and they look like crap! They look wavy and cracked up.

Justin, have you seen Hank's WRX? By your response I'd guess you havent. It's yellow with the graphite hood and looks sweet.

Yeah, I've seen it on Hanks WRX, still don't like it. Just not my taste. I'll take a smooth looking shiny paint job anyday!

I think it would look good on a Black car, but not really on any other color. My girlfriend and I bought a Civic for traveling and for her daily driver and it's black. I thought a CF hood would look good on her car, but not on any other color.
Just my .02

Mike,WTF have you been smokin dude!? That hood looks sweet but i don't like the carbon fiber look but if you do get it i would try to have a body shop cut the plate out of the scoop and make it functional to push the hot air from the engine compartment.
I can't stand a cowl hood that is blocked off, front or back. It just defeats the purpose IMO.

Hahah Scott,
I dont have the money to rebuild my 10 bolt let alone the money for a 1000 dollar hood. I'm not buying that thing

Black unpainted composite hoods go back a little bit before ricers....

I'd say get it, put it on, and see how you like the look of unpainted carbon fiber. If not, you can always paint over it. There are different qualities of cf though, cheap ones will look shitty. It is lighter than fiberglass though.

those are dodges!!! They had some very very weird ideas!!! It just seems to match those cars more. Different strokes for different folks.

The CF SS hood could look good if it was painted except for the scoop.. sorta like people paint the scoop part of the hood black.. Lots of clear.. On a Dodge yes, but an all black hood on a modern car looks wrong to me..
