Default Highway DD Cars?

Since Ive started driving my car ~60 miles or so a day on the interstate/highway the front of the car is just getting bombarded. chipped and screwed up.

I know the most obvious option is to not drive the car and get something else to use but that isnt an option right now.

So does anyone drive on the Highway a lot? get a lot of nicks and chips? what are you doing about it?

I claybared the front and it really helped the car out a lot. most really wasnt too bad. but I can easily see the problems forming from this routine.

So those of you (if there are any) who are driving highway/interstates daily.. what do you do? what are you doing to prevent this? black might not be the best color for this either :/

I drive 150 miles from cleveland to toledo and back between school and home every few weekends, and over the years mine has gotten bad too. Some tint shops do a clear protective coating they can put on the front of your car. My buddy has it on his jeep srt8, you can tell its there when you look closely (you see the line where it ends), but other than that it looks good and works.

3M makes the best clear bar so you know its gonna be good. I want to get one so bad but luckily it wont see many highway miles anymore.

I drove my old blue T/A and my old white one on the highway everyday and never had the issue. The key is keeping a GOOD distance from people in front of you. If someone gets in that spot, slow down and keep distance from them.

Yeah, it really is that simple. Stay the recommended 2 seconds or a litle more and you won't have that problem. at least I never have, and I drive 45 miles each way to work when I'm not in school. (6 days a week and the 7th I'm usually taking a road trip to somewhere far away)

Though the clear bra does seem like a good option, when I had my altima a lot of the guys on the nissan forums swear by them because apparently nissan cheaps out on the nose paint

Maybe my front wasnt painted well this second time around. I had some paint work done and it looks great. I just have all these little chips and such in the bumper and it kills me.

I try to distance myself from others. Now that I think about it this isnt bug marks lol unless they have a hard rock/coating :p.. Ill look into the clear bra.. I really wouldnt mind getting one. I keep the car pretty clean as is and this is why it bothers me.

The only thing about those 3M clear bras is your paint has to be pretty flawless for them to be applied and adhere properly.

Isn't there something with the clear bra's and them turning yellow after time? Or was it a crappy brand that I've heard of?

^^ It was stated above that some tint shops could install them for you. So I guess try that or 3M's website

Most good tint shops can install a clear bra, its prolly the best way to go to protect the paint

Clear bra and it won't trap moisture if it is done right. 3M is what I went with after I painted it. Love it and if you get a good shop they will mold the hood at a convex or concave angle however you prefer. On a side note if you get chips on the hood all the way to the metal put some clear nail polish on to keep it from rusting.

Chipping the paint just above the grille area. I hate how it looks with all the rock chips on the hood & front bumper but i just went ahead and gave up lol once im done paying this car off. Mine have started getting bad from DD on the highway...I even got a chip right in the center of the hood...as far as preventing it, besides a bra (clear or not) just try not to follow too closely behind others (although I can't seem to help avoiding this myself).
