Default Satin Black/Gloss Black Two Tone, Mecham Hood etc

So my 01 has been reborn! Finally. SEM Hot Rod Black base Two Toned w/ Sherwin Williams 4th dimension Gloss black and HOK Clear coat. The gloss has not been cut and buffed yet. Please ignore the Wheels, i plan on swapping them out for some 19" HP Racing lightnings. The DRL's and wipers will be replaced also, so try not to worry about those.

The hood, headlights, plate bird, sail panel and deck lid are all Gloss. The rest of the car is Satin. What you guys think?

interesting concept.. I think I probably would have gone with the reverse and done the top satin and the sides gloss if I was set on that scheme, cool either way though. I'm liking it!

I was thinking about that, but I liked the idea of it having that "Batman" Look.

I just noticed.. looks like they did you're whole front plate cover in gloss and not just the bird. Is that how you meant for it to be? Cause that does look a bit odd to me, would be great if it were just the bird itself.

yeah, the fullplate cover is in gloss. I'll take you up on your idea though.

Im surprised more people haven't posted. I figured this would be something people would want to see. Guess not, lol

I think it looks fug dude, no offense. Satin is all or nothing. Now you have a car that looks half finished and half in primer. I think the parts that are satin look great. But the gloss is just not right looking.

Have to see it in person i guess. I get all kinds of compliments on it, and it just sits there right now. The other reason why i did the gloss is because I also plan on having air brush artworks all over the hood and deck lid.

I like it, but I particularly like the ground effects. Who makes those?

Car is hot. I would have done all satin as well but the car still looks impeccable...

I say a set of black 2009 Z06 Spyders...

or black 2009 ZR1s (I can get both for around $1000 depending on sizing you want)

would finish it off...

I need to see more pics of the side and rear before I can make a decision. How do you take care of a satin paint job, is it like regular paint? Thanks,

Larry

And I also would have done all satin black, with some gloss black Blackbird stripes.

Car looks awesome i am a huge fan of satin but i think with it half gloss half satin its really going to look unfinished like its primered and waiting. Just take off the glass and so all satin or do glass racing stripes! I love the car over all though. Zo6 spiders would look good

from what my paint guy told me. you cant wax or buff it or else it will get shiny. if you get a scratch in it you have to paint the whole panel. there are no touch ups. he said something else but i cant remember

Good luck with keeping the front gfx from cracking . I wished I'd never it on mine when I had the Formula front bumper. I scraped everything around and had to avoid so many places to park or drive ...ie dips at entrances or the worst those cement parking things. It took me awhile after I got the T/A bumper to realize I didnt have to be so careful parking/driving...no more scraping!

Did you have those issues?
