98-02 TA HID Conversion
Anyone know where I can order a Conversion kit for the TA? I would really like to do a HID conversion. A guy here in huntsville has them but the place he got them from went out of business. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

First off, there's a lot of things to consider when trying to install HIDs on a Trans Am. For starters, the car uses sealed beam housings, which no HID kit on the market will work, unless you modify the housings. You've got a few options, from worst to best:
1)Modify stock sealed beam housings to accept a standard size bulb (H7, H9, etc), and installed an HID 'kit'
2)Purchase a sealed beam conversion kit, which replaces the stock sealed beam housings with identically sized housings that are made to accept standard sized bulbs.
3)Do it right, and install projectors that are designed to work with HID setups.
The Lighting FAQ will tell you more than you ever want to know about why the first two options are less than ideal, and why the third is the best, and how to go about the swap, whichever way you decide to go.

Thanks. Anyone on here done the conversion? If so.. how hard was it and was it worth the effort? I can always just buy the SilverStars, but I don't know how bright those are.
I found this site and I may get these..

heres the way i went about it:
Here are the links:
Order the low beam headlight housings from this website. (part number 36-0302)
http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cd/full.aspx?Page=65
order the fog lights and low beam bulbs/ballasts from here.
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W
when you order the bulbs. you want
880 bulbs for your fog lights
and 9006 bulbs for your headlights.
be sure to order all bulbs in 35w
choose your color (ranging from 1000Kto 12000K)
you DO NOT need an HID harness. and you DO NOT need error code eliminators
thats it. other wise. plug and play
pic below are fog lights before and after, then low beams side by side and then driving shots.
