Yet Another LTx HID Projector Thread!
Well Ive been looking around for some projectors for my retrofit project for the t/a. I went with retrofit source fx-r's. I really wanted the sharp blue cut off and a glass lens. I went with a new set of Infiniti ballasts, and a pair of Phillips 85122+ bulbs. I also went ahead and bought some new headlight buckets just so everything would be clean. My old ones looked a little bad. So far Ive got one projector set in the housing. Im going to silicone around the edge and use some aluminum tape on the top of the bucket where there is an opening. I want to make sure everything is watertight because this was an expensive little project. I also bought some aluminum watertight project boxes for the ballasts because I would like to mount them underneath the bucket somehow and not have to worry about anything getting wet. I used one piece of lexan to hold the projector inside the bucket and so it wouldnt move back and forth. The second black piece is for the outside just like blackbirds setup. Here are a few pics I have so far. Let me know what you think. And I give props to everyone else who have done this because it isnt the easiest task.

FX-R Projectors- $150
New Headlight Buckets- $60
New Matsushita Gen 3 Ballasts, New Phillips 85122+ Bulbs, Plug and Play Harness- $230
Lexan Sheets- maybe $10
Time and Labor- too much to count
I just bought some Gatling Gun Shrouds for them as well. Those were $50. I think itll look cool with the "light vents" around the perimeter of the shroud. Thanks for Lookin!

Got this part from a pool supply store. It's a part that you place into the filter of the pump so you can use a vacuum to clean the bottom of the pool. They come in various sizes, just make sure the one you get has a flat bottom side, so it will sit flush against the wood.
Vacuum attaches underneath here
Just used standard door weatherstripping, and sealed up all the small gaps with silicone.
The piece of wood itself was already precut that size, picked it up from Lowes, along with weather stripping, and silicone. Cant remember the final cost, but it was really inexpensive to make. Hope this helps. Afterwards, all you need is a frame for the plexiglass, which you can throw together with some wood strips. Just make sure the frame is the same dimensions as the size of your gasket area.
Cant wait to see your completed setup, good luck man!
EDIT: Just saw you're in Jax as well, we should get together and bounce some ideas off each other sometime. I'm working on the same thing right now.

Im very happy with the outcome so far. Its coming out far better than I expected.
UPDATE: I also drilled 3 holes in the corners of the buckets through the lexan and secured 3 screws on it. That way im guaranteed it wont move around in there. Tomorrow, Ill seal it up and move onto the passenger side.

My question to you guyz is, Im not really a big fan of the chrome. I was thinking about buying some vht or some kind of transparent black paint to kind of get the "black chrome" look. And I have to trim the hell out of these because theyre like 4.7" in diameter. Let me know what you think.

yea as you can see alot of trimming will need to be done. The lense wont actually sit that deep. And im hoping I can make some lenses that will still fit over these. In time I suppose, but its coming along
