Default LT1 tail lights on 98-02 camaro, get in here

If I want to put the LT1 body style tail lights on my '00 Camaro. Will the harness just plug right up, or does it have to be modified?

it will work but there is some problems with the swap...

1. the 98-02 bulb sockets are bigger then the 93-96 ones. so you will have to trim a little. (easy) you will see...

2. the 93-96 cars light up differently then the 97+, on the older ones all the lights light up. but on the newer cars they cant because of the amber turn signals. so the middle of the 4 light bulbs will be out until you put the turn signal on.

anyway its a good swap imo...

^ i didnt have to do any trimming or anything when i put them on my '99. but like you said, they do light up different. i have since gone back to my 98-02 lights which are completely red now, see my sig. i hate the amber, and i didnt want white either.

Y2K_Camaro if you want a set of 93-97 light i have a stock set im not using. the left light has a minor crack, but its not that bad. let me know if your interested.

Mine is actually the other way around. I have 98 tail lights on my 95 since my room mate broke one and I got the 98 ones for free.

I'm pretty sure this is the next mod on my list...the LS1 tail flows sooooo much better with the bodylines.

They will snap in without trimming, it will take a lot of elbow grease though. Me and my buddy fought with it for about 25 minutes, maybe trimming would have been easier.

I wired both of the red area's to come on with the parking lights and brake lights. Then I wired the outside red area to come on for my blinker. I could take a little vid if anyone is interested.
