Well got my di-noc in the other day in hopes to clear it and polish it all up to simulate resin based carbon fiber, but after looking at the material it wouldn't be possible. Any clear would fill in the texture which gives it the appearance of cf. Basically you would end up with a solid black piece.

I BET YOU...I BET YOU, that if you used something like...hmm surfboard resin that maybe, JUSTTTT MAYBEEE, you might be able to do it, but since I'm just a redneck with a 3rd gen...it could just be a farce.

yep still just a redneck with a 3rd gen. Doesn't make a difference if it's resin, clearcoat or your moms titty milk, it will fill in the texture of the material making the "effect" dissappear.

if i lack a sense of humor then how do i make jokes? maybe you're just a ra-tard.

Anyone do anythign new lately?

I've had some neffy wrapped stuff in my car for about two months now and while it looks cool, it's starting to wrinkle and the 3m 90 is not holding. The di-noc...not persuaded by it yet and in this Florida heat seams like it might come loose as well.

yea i'm thinking painting them and doing it right might be the best option for something different in the interior.

Well, I decided to try it so I bought some and tried it on my lid and it came out pretty good. I used Rapid Tac which is sprayed on as a surface prep and to help with the application. This stuff really esponds well to heat. Here's a few pics. I left the edges alone as the color matches the lid perfectly. The camera flash makes it look lighter than it really is. Next up are the valve covers. We'll see how this stuff likes heat.

Here's a little visual comparison between real carbon fiber, 3M DI-NOC, Neffy Wrap, and five different carbon fiber vinyls. DI-NOC is the background, real carbon fiber top left, Neffy Wrap bottom left, vinyl on the right. More comparison pictures: http://showcarforum.com/threads/51-C...omparison-PICS

I'm making some calls to see what kind of pricing I can get this for.

I'm considering offering this material to you guys for an unbeatable price for those of you wanting to wrap minor things.
