[QUOTE=brian_rs/ss;12856564]whistler's>projector's/halo's. it's also about a million times cheaper.

I know, I like whistler or even stock chrome ones better but I want a crystal clear lense and I dont want to spend a crazy amount of money for GM headlights.
If I find some very low milege headlights I might just pick them up and whistler them.
The only reason why projector ones are attractive to me is because of the projector. I know its not the best and I can also retro fit some real projectors but I dont want to go thru all that mess.

Thanks. I've had both projector types shown in this thread so far (z95lt1 and mine) and I like the light output of my current set better. I do like the CCFL halos on the Eagle Eyes projectors that z95lt1 has, they are more visible. My Sonars just have LED halos and you can't really see them except when it is dusk/dark out. But if you don't plan on using the halos, that's a moot point.
There is that third type that got released recently but has the odd LED strip, "audi" wannabe style. I'm tempted to try those, since I busted up my driver side one and need new headlights (can't get just one, of course) and would like to see how they are. But I don't want to end up sinking the money into a possibly inferior projector, or have that led strip look really ugly even when disconnected. Maybe they could be opened up and the LED strip removed, but I don't know about spending the money to find out removing the LED strip looks worse or whatever... I kinda wish someone on here would buy them already so I could see how they look installed on a car

The Eagle Eyes he has (and I had previously) use H3 bulbs in their projectors. H3 really isn't well suited for a headlight, more of a fog light bulb. Using HIDs helps mitigate that some, but the beam was rather narrow.
The Sonars I have now use H1 which is better suited as a headlight bulb. HIDs make it that much better. The beam is much wider, and the cutoff is a little cleaner.
Both have good high beams though, didn't really see much of a difference between the two. They both use stock 9005 high beam bulbs.
