Default How to remove the nose emblem?

Picked up some new emblems from Emblempros and after checking up I see most people just use water, a blow dryer, and fishing line to get the emblems off. Sounds easy enough. How do you get the one out of the nose tho? Since its embedded in there doesnt seem like a line will be able to catch it right.

Use a little heat and a lot of time because if you destroy it and want to put it back on they're $40 new

Use some heavy duty catfish line, that's the only thing I've ever used that didn't break. Just use it like a flexible saw.

Use a hair dryer to heat it up and very carefully and slowly pry it up with a putty knife.

I've been looking at embelpros too and am tempted to buy one. My question is opposite of yours? What do you attach the embel with? Some sort of special glue?

Any of those methods should work. I jusi did mine yesterday with dental floss. Then took a little soft piece of plastic and gently scraped the rest off while spraying detail spray on it. Then finished with a microfiber towel.

Remove it carefuly. Fishing line is one way, heating it also works. I taped the area around it with painters tape, doubled up, and then used a little heat and something to pry it up with til I could get ahold of it and peel it off the rest of the way.

Here is the new emblem, also from emblempros.com. Its hard to see, but its the red/white/blue with Z28 under it.

And D3VIL, they come with 3M tape on it it, so its just peel and stick.

And the reason I used floss is because I've seen fishing lines dig into the paint unknowingly. And to put it on just use 3M double sided foam tape. But if you're buyingbut from emblem pros it already has the tape on it.

I realize this is an old thread, but I changed mine today with the same badge as above.

It was 106 degrees here today so the old one came right off. Cleaned the area with adhisive remover and pressed the new one into place.

Easy.

I discarded my stocker years ago.. But yeah, even the RK Sport C/F nose badges are expensive as hell. But it's RK Sport, so that's not saying much..

-=EDIT=-

Well, I THOUGHT it was expensive. $17 for the nose badge is pretty cheap actually.

The nose bade on my '95 was removed for me when the F250 behind me at a stop light thought the light turned green and shoved me into the Grand Am in front of me. The nose badge popped right off! I can lol about it now but I certainly wasn't loling about the $2500 in damage or the paint job from the repair when it happened.
