Default Something different with my lights....PICS

I see every other car on the road blacking out their tail lights and corner lights so I wanted something different...

Silvered out!!

Still plenty of light goes through at night time you REALLY cant tell a difference

But I still blacked out one thing, those ''in your face" reverse lights

So what do you all think?? all the paint work was done by my roomate who works for a very respected shop. all the finishes are a gloss like normal paint not like those crap imo black spray can jobs. But light shows through incredibly!! idk exactly what he uses he said something about using an additive that they put into pearl paints or something.

That's really interesting, next best thing to shaving them I guess. Looks good

You should paint the screws silver, they stand out like a sore thumb now. I used a "chrome" paint when I put on my clears and they blend right in.

Not bad, do you have a full body shot to see how it blends?

good job man it definitely looks better than VHTing them. I saw a few ppl contemplating on doing this in a previous thread, maybe you were one of those ppl. I'm not sure if I like the third brake light done in that manner, but maybe it looks better from a realistic height perspective. Can you post up some shots further away from the t/a and show us?

The silvers aren't a perfect match because of being sprayed on a red and orange lens. He said on a clear lens it would match perfect. I still like it though!

side markers yes! 3rd brake light doesn't do it for me at all. That would look better blacked out or left alone.

I don't like it. It looks like you painted the car and didn't bother to mask off the lights.
But that's one of the cool things about this hobby. We do it because we like it, not because someone else does.

i dont care for it.

the reason i dont, is the same reason you like it... because they blend with the car. the bad thing about them blending, is that they no longer look like lights, they look like they serve no function, there for, they look extremely out of place.... 2 randomly placed rectangles is what it looks like the car has...

stock, they look like what they are, lights. so when you look at them, its not really out of place... you just see lights. but now you dont know what you're looking at.

but thats just my take on this...

Customizing your car is all about being different from everyone else, not following the crowd. Good job man!!

I'm with this guy. To me the third brake light looks really cheap when painted as well. You almost need a different color to break up that huge spoiler.

I've been contemplating what to do with my side markers since last year.
ZexGx painted his body matching color, and I kinda liked it. Now, seeing it on silver, I'm glad I didn't do it. Like stated before, they blend in too well, and look like you're trying to hide something (which you kinda are).
But if you like it, good! Your buddy did a good job of paint it looks like. You should paint the screws to hide them more as well.
