Melted my lense attempting WHISTLER mod...
I followed the many guides and put my light in the oven for 20 minutes at 200 degrees to separate the lense from the housing. I actually did 195 to be safe, but I melted my lense anyway Is there any place that would sell me just a lense, as I don't need an entire assembly?
These aren't great pics, but you can see that the texture is very rough now and the rounded areas are sunk in quite a bit.

Did you put them straight on the rack?
I put mine on a piece of wood, middle level of the oven, and they didn't even come close to melting (20 min @ 200 degrees). One of my headlights was factory and the other was aftermarket.

Yep right on the rack. The lense wasn't touching anything though.

Sure enough... facing it towards the heaters was the culprit (go figure). I know it should have been common sence, but a warning would have been nice
Thanks man.

I think so. Just to be safe, I would check the oven thermometer after preheat, before you put it in to make sure it is at 200. Also, try to put the headlight right in the middle of the oven (height wise).
