Default Painted the stocker WS6's BLACK

As you can see in the pictures the wheels were total ****. The clear was crumbling off and the polished finish was wearing off. So that means that i went to work on them. First i stripped them down with some aircraft cleaner which was awesome. Then i wet sanded them with 400 grit paper. i wanted a silver lip so i taped off around the lip of the wheel and then used some self etching primer for starters. after the primer cured i put on 2 thick coats of black paint. once that cured i put on 3 coats of clear. All in all i am very pleased with the result. here are the pictures.

yeah, with a drop, i like those more than the z06's. can't go wrong with black on black, especially with the polished lip.

Unless you speak from experience I'd suggest you rethink that. Mine still look perfect after a few months and I know people with some that lasted 4 years before they had a problem. It's all in the prep work. If you sand, sand, and sand some more you will get great results. The op also used aircraft stripper which helps even more. If you just clean and spray your wheels you can expect it to last a month or two...with proper prep work it will last a very long time.

It's extremely easy to take care of rock chips.

I wonder if you would of used like caliper paint or something really thick and durable if it would look good. and last longer?

Thumbs up

Good job, and I like that you kept a polished lip. If the paint comes off down the road just get them powder coated the same way.

Slam it!

looks good. reminds me of the CETA. I'm glad you left the lip polished. black wheels need the lip or else they just look like a dirty wheel.
