Question *Custom Logo* Floor Mats?

Anyone know a place that can do *Custom Logo* Floor Mats? i.e. not just selecting pre-defined logos, but custom and/or combining logos? The mats should be the nice plush carpet ones similar to what Lloyds sells.

TIA

carmotorsports.com - http://carmotorsports.com/embroidere....php#build_Mat

everyone who has them says the quality is superb. fully customizable, including personalized text, although they make the font fairly small, and you can't make it larger.

Lloyd mats from afterthoughts auto.com: http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/llmaulca1.html (the option in the bottom-right corner)

i love my Lloyd mats. I've had them in both cars and couldn't be happier. they too can be all customized, along with personal text. unfortunately, on the afterthoughtauto's website, you don't get to get a preview of your personal text like on carmotorsports site. and you have to call in the order for custom mats.

Thanks -- both closer, but neither allows you to specify logos they do not already offer...

your best bet is probably to just get them custom embroidered at a local shop or something like that.

If you find a place that will accept a custom EPS format logo, I'll design the logo for you for them to put in their embroidery machine. It won't be free though.

I actually just sent and e-mail to Lloyds about this a few days ago, they are a town away from me. I'll post in here if I get a response...

NOTE: Bragenta, sorry I never got back to you, lots of personal stuff came up and stopping me right now...

That is the problem -- haven't identified a place that will do that for floor mats. However, even with the Lloyds logos, you cannot seem to combine their logos and pick the orientation and sizing on the mats. If I could, the later would suffice for my purposes.

If what you're wanting is a completely original logo design, then any place that does their own embroidery of mats should theoretically be able to do this.

What I would suggest, if you're interested in having me design the logo, is find a place that offers personalization on mats (such as your name on the mat). The ones that just offer predefined logos may not be doing the embroidery themselves (they might be sending the mats off to another company), and so you're not even talking to the company that does that portion of the job.

So find a place/company that does personalization, and ask if you can submit your own logo that you have copyright permission to use. If I design it, I can supply a permission to use form to that company.

The reason many companies may not be giving you the time of day is because they could legally get in a lot of trouble for using copyrighted logos without permission on customer products.

Send me a PM or email and tell me who you've contacted about this.

From Gary at LLoyds...

"Mark,

We are able to create custom logos from camera ready artwork, but the setup costs may be prohibitive. I took a look at the logo displayed on the hat you show on your site. If this can be done as a direct embroidery, the setup charge would run between $250 and $300.

Generally a logo with the detail shown, would be done as an embroidered appliqué. If that is the only way for us to achieve the detail, setup and tooling necessary to "weld" the appliqué onto the mat is $500.

If you would like to discuss the options, I would be happy talk with you on the phone or here at our facility. I am busy between 1 and 3pm tomorrow, otherwise available.

Best Regards

The setup charge is likely the same process I'd be going through to create the logo into something they can use. They're essentially going to trace the photo by hand and that result will be used to create the embroidery.

I think he is saying to set it up for tooling. I think he is assuming you are already bringing him the artwork ready to go in the right file, I could be wrong...

Ah, I read that wrong, you're right. The term "camera ready artwork" generally means an EPS file like what I can design.

That tooling expense is awfully expensive. If it were me, I'd probably get a reverse vinyl decal to use as a mask and Spray Dye the logo on the carpet, or even more durable and pronounced... use the mask and paint it with oil paint.

You could also always have Emblempros laser it in...

Basically I want to do logo mats similar in layout/style to SLP's SS mats, but say "Camaro RS", with these logos, with layout and orientation just like the SLP SS mats. It's too bad SLP won't divulge who makes their mats, plus SLP won't allow their physical design with the hug-fitting dip to have any one-off customizations (they say because the margins go down). :-(

Ah... I can't design those logos to go together without written permission from GM, so I can't help you with that unless you wanted to go through that process... and then the company making them would have to have authorization too or they would likely say "no way!" as well... :-\

Going through the process should be fine -- I cannot imagine an issue, as there was and still is a Camaro RS! ;-)
